Chapter 8 The Neko's Seal

Y/n's POV

I felt something shaking me as I opened my eyes. "Good morning sweetie, are you ready to train in swordsmanship?" Mommy asked. I rolled over, closing my eyes again. I felt someone sit me up, then lift me to my feet. "Come on, I know it's early but we need to start your training." Mommy said. I leaned my head on her shoulder and felt tired again. "How about this? I'll catch you the best fish I can today if you wake up now." Mommy said. I opened my eyes and looked at her face. She smiled at me as I nodded. She helped me get dressed before we went outside. I let out a yawn and rubbed my right eye as we walked over to Garm's store. Mommy knocked on it as I took my hand from her, rubbing both eyes. "Oh, good morning you two." Garm said as I leaned against mommy. 

"Thank for such a quick order, I'm sorry for coming this early to pick it up." Mommy said.

"It's completely fine, besides I was already up and working on a few other things around the shop." Garm said.

"Do you mind if we come in and get the armor on?" Mommy asked.

"Please do. If anything is wrong, we can adjust it here and now." Garm said, inviting us in. Mommy led me inside, sitting me down on a stool. She had me lift my arms, allowing her to slip into the leather tunic. "Is it too tight?" Mommy asked. I shook my head. Mommy stood me up and moved my arms around. "I guess it's not too tight, plus the work that went into this tunic is amazing." Mommy said.

"Well, thank you, lady Shizu, but until she's older, I think it's best if she wears mostly leather or something more lightweight." Garm said. 

"Well, with what I'm going to teach her, I don't think she'll even need it, eventually." Mommy said.

"Are you really that skilled?" Garm asked.

"My adventurer name is Shizu conqueror of Flames." Mommy said.

"Wow, such a big shot here in my shop. It's an a honor two have you here." Garm said.

"Please don't tell anyone else. I'll teach her the right skills and make sure no one can sneak up on her." Mommy said.

"Of course, you have my word." Garm said. Mommy grabbed my hand leading me to the door, we waved to Garm as we headed to Kaijin's place. Kaijin was starting a fire as we walked up to him. "Good morning Kaijin." I said waving at him. He turned to see me and mommy. "Good morning you two, I have those swords you asked for." Kaijin said. He waved for us to come over to a table that he had set up. "Two wooden swords and a especially designed magisteel blade made for Y/n." Kaijin said. Mommy picked up my sword and started to look at it. "Wow, this is an amazing quality, where did you get the ore for this?" Mommy asked. 

"Well the ore was given to me by lord Rimuru." Kaijin said.

"It's amazing what such wonderful ore does for a sword's blade." Mommy said.

"Well that's more my work then the ore's but I guess you could you say that too." Kaijin said laughing. Mommy put the sword away and handed me one of the wooden ones. "Thank you for such quick work on these." Mommy said.

"No problem just be sure to train our little lady well." Kaijin said. Mommy nodded and led me outside of town to the hill I showed her. "You know that I don't have a lot of time left but, I'm willing to try and extend that. As a neko you have some amazing magical powers, one of which I think was some type of sealing power. If I can help you learn this it might extend how long I can be here with you." Mommy said. 

"Mommy, I think I know it already." I said.

"Are you sure?" Mommy asked.

"I think it was called 'Neko's Seal' right?" I asked.

"That's right, where did you learn it?" Mommy asked. 

"It was my dragon friend Veldora, he told me about it before I met daddy." I said.

"Did he also help you learn it?" Mommy asked.

"Yeah, it was hard since he couldn't show me." I said. I was pulled into a hug as mommy pet me. "I'm so happy for you, okay, are you willing to use that skill on me?" Mommy asked. I nodded against her chest before looking at her face smiling. "Okay, I'll lay down and let you use your magic." Mommy said. Mommy laid down with her tummy facing up, I rested my hands on her stomach thinking about how it felt when Veldora showed me how. "Neko's Seal." I said. Light came from my hands as a circle appeared on mommy's stomach. After a couple seconds the circle stopped glowing and appeared on mommy's stomach. "Okay, it's done." I said. Mommy sat up and looked at her stomach. "I didn't know it'd show up on my skin, but at least I can cover it." Mommy said. "I can feel his magic power fading just a bit."

"That's good, now you can stay around for longer." Daddy said. Me and mommy turned to see daddy hopping up to us. "Did you see that? I used my magic on mommy!" I cheered. 

"Yeah, I sure did." Daddy said.

"Good morning Rimuru, how are you this morning?" Mommy asked. 

"Good, I'm happy that you two are getting along so well." Daddy said.

"Oh daddy I have a question for you. What would happen if I ate some of you with my skill?" I asked.

"That's a good question, do you know Shizu?" Daddy asked.

"What skill are we talking about?" Mommy asked.

"The unique skill 'Predator' is that skill she's talking about." Daddy said.

"Wait you both have that skill?" Mommy asked.

"Yeah we do, but I think it's easier on me because I don't have to taste any of the stuff I eat." Daddy said.

"Yeah, sometimes the stuff daddy leaves after a fight is nasty." I said.

"I honestly don't know, maybe she'd gain all the skills you have or maybe nothing would happen." Mommy said.
