Chapter 10 Mama's Gone

Y/n's POV

I woke up hearing something going on outside of my tent; I got up from my bed, walking to the door. Before I could open it, Rigurd opened the door. "Lady Y/n, Master Rimuru has told me to take you to a safe place." Rigurd said. I grabbed my gear and ran out the tent. "Lady Y/n!" Rigurd called as I ran towards what was making the noise. I saw Papa fighting someone that was floating in the air. I ran over to him, drawing my sword. "Papa, what's going on?" I asked.

"Y/n you need to evacuate with everyone else." Papa said. I shook my head and stood next to him. "I want to help save everyone." I said. 

"Okay, just be careful I don't know what to expect out of this guy." Papa said. I nodded and looked at him, ready to fight. The person roared, knocking everyone back. Three pillars of fire appeared from the ground before some weird creatures flew out of them. Papa summoned Ranga, who lifted him up onto his back before evading the attacks of those weird creatures. They continued to spread fire through the town. "We just built this last!" Papa yelled. Eren and her friends started shooting at them with ice magic while papa had Ranga avoiding being hit. I used what mama taught me and blocked most of the attacks that came at me. The heat from the attacks was crazy. "Y/n, be careful their attacks are getting hotter." Eren said, firing another icicle lance at one. She hit it, forcing it to stop breathing fire. "Eren! Fire that at me, and a small one at Y/n." Papa said, running up to her. Eren looked at him, worried about it. "Are you sure?" Eren asked. 

"Just do it!" Papa yelled. Eren shot her magic at both of us, mine being small enough that I could eat it. After that, one creature flew towards Eren and her friends before blowing up. Papa had Ranga jump over the other two before killing them. The man in the air lowered down to the ground before Rigur and Rigurd showed up again. "Rigur. Rigurd. Get those four out of here." Papa said. 

"No, I wanna help you." I said. Rigurd picked me up in his arms, dragging me away from papa and the fight. "Rigurd put me down. I want to help papa." I said. He kept running away from the fight before stopping where all the other villagers went. Once he set me down I started to run back towards the fight. "Lady Y/n , you must stay here. Lord Rimuru doesn't want you getting hurt." Rigurd said grabbing my arm. A bunch of the villagers stood in front of me and stopped me from going down to the fight. I stopped trying to leave and found a place to sit while papa continued to fight. After a while the sky cleared showing that the fight was done, I heard someone walk towards me before stopping right behind me. "Lady Y/n, it's now safe to go back now." Rigurd said. I didn't look at him still upset that I was taken from the fight. "Lady Y/n, let's head back. I'm sure master Rimuru has put a stop to the fight." Rigur said. I shook my head. "You guys go on ahead, we'll come in a minute." Eren said. She sat next to me not talking. "What do you want?" I asked.

"Y/n I know you wanted to stay and help your father fight, but I think Shizu wouldn't want you getting hurt." Eren said. 

"But mama would have fought him." I said.

"That's true, but even still she's your mother. She wants to make sure you don't get hurt." Eren said. I looked at her before turning away again. "Come on, let's head back down and we can see about your father." Eren said standing me up. I dusted myself off before we walked back to town. One tent survived and Rigurd came out of it. He saw me walking up to the tent and opened the door for me. I walked in to see papa and mama talking, mama was laying down on a bed smiling at me when I walked into the tent. "Hi sweetie, come here." Mama said. I walked over and looked at her. "Mama are you okay?" I asked. Mama sighed before putting her hand against my cheek. "I'm sorry, but I'm not going to survive this." Mama said. I started to cry as she looked at me with a smile. "I'm so sorry, but I know one thing." Mama said. I looked at her. "I know that you'll continue to live a happy life even without me in it." She said. She wiped my tears away before kissing my forehead. "I know you're sad, but I want to let you know that I think in some way I'll still be around." Mama said. I looked at her confused. "Rimuru I want to rest in peace, but the only place I can think of to rest peacefully is in your stomach." Mama said. 

"Are you sure?" Papa asked. 

"Yes." Mama said. 

"Y/n will you give me and Rimuru a minute please." I nodded and walked out of the tent, I sat next to the door waiting for them to finish talking. After a while of them talking Rigurd along with Eren and her friends showed up to see mama. They stopped when they saw me waiting outside. "Lady Y/n, is something wrong?" Rigurd asked. I looked at them with tears still falling. Once they saw my tears they rushed inside the tent. I continued to sit outside until someone with papa's color/colour of hair came out and sat next to me. "I'm sorry sweetie, but we should talk about Shizu." The person said.

"W-who are you?" I asked wiping my tears away. 

"Well, Shizu let me use my predator skill on her which is letting me use mimic to look human. It's still me though." Papa said. I nodded before hugging him. He hugged back letting me continue crying until I fell asleep.

Rimuru's POV

Y/n fell asleep after crying for a few minutes, I picked her up and went inside the tent laying her down so she could sleep. After that I said goodbye to Eren and her friends along with giving them some new gear. "Don't worry Shizu, I'll protect Y/n and complete your quest." I thought making a promise.
