Y/n's POV
We were making our way through the forest close to the dwelling of spirits we were told about before we found the entrance we were told about. "The dwelling of spirits should be just beyond this door. You kids ready for this?" Papa asked. Everyone looked nervous about where we were going to be going. "Once we enter this place, we may never leave." Papa explained. After papa said that everyone looked a little more stressed. "O-of course we're ready." Kenya said, trying to act brave. Everyone started agreeing with Kenya before Chloe walked up and grabbed papa's coat sleeve, nodding at him. "Ranga, Y/n. If this goes south, you two need to protect them." Papa said.
"Your students are my students. I will protect with my life." Ranga said. I nodded before papa opened the door to the labyrinth. We walked inside and something immediately felt off about the place. "It's just a straight path." Kenya mentioned. Alice and Ryota were talking about how it was supposed to me a labyrinth. "Everyone stick together. Y/n will you walk behind us to make sure we don't lose anyone?" Papa said.
"Yeah, let me know if you get lost." I said. I heard a sigh from papa. "Yes, sir." The kids said, listening to papa. Papa looked like he was a little lost in thought before I heard a voice in my head. It was the voice of a woman who was laughing about something. Papa had us stop before he looked around for the source. "What are those voices? They're everywhere." Kenya said.
"They sound like they're resonating in my head." Gale said.
"It's telepathy or thought transference." I said.
"Yeah, either way, stay on guard." Papa said. I nodded and drew my sword, ready for a fight. "Come on, that's no fun. Isn't this scary? You should be afraid." The voice said. I looked at the kids and saw the scary looks on Chloe's and Alice's faces. "There you go. It's a lot more entertaining when you show your fear." The voice said.
"Are you a spirit that hangs out here?" Papa asked, "I need to talk with a superior spirit."
"We'd like it if you lead us to some that we could talk to." I said.
"That's an amusing request. I'll show you." The voice said.
"That was super easy and nice." Papa said.
"Not so fast, there's one thing you need to do first." The voice said.
"What do you mean?" Papa asked. Chloe walked up to him and tugged on his coat sleeve before pointing at the end of the tunnel. It started moving and shining before we found ourselves on a different path. "Oh look a creey path, I guess we have to follow it." Papa said scarcastically. We started following the path before slowly making it to the end of it. "It's a dead end." Papa said.
"There's no rush. No rush." The voice said, "Behold, small world."
A room formed around us before I saw a giant robot in front of papa. "What do you think?" The voice asked.
"That was super cool." I said.
"Thank you." The voice said, "Now it's time for a test."
The robot in front of papa started moving before looking at him with a glowing red eye. I stepped in front of the kids while papa held his arm out ready to protect them. "Is this test just about beating this thing?" Papa asked.
"Shall I take it out?" Ranga asked.
"No, I still need you and Y/n to watch out for the kids. If anything happens protect them." Papa said.
"Um teach?" Royta asked. I set my hand on his head before he looked at me. "Papa's the strongest." I said. He nodded as we all looked back at him. Papa was smiling at us before turning his attention to the robot. He stepped forward ready to fight the robot. "What's this? Is your overconfidence leading you to believe that you can take it down by yourself?" The voice asked.
