A Slime's Neko Daughter

Chapter 17

Y/n's POV

I was sitting on a bench with the Kijin behind me and papa in my arms. "Alright, so I'm just going to say what's on my mind and how we should handle it." Papa said. I looked down at papa wondering what he was going to talk about. "Reserve any judgement until I'm done. I'm not holding any of the orcs responsible for what happened." Papa started. I looked at the lizardman,  who had gray hair. He seemed upset about what papa said. "I know this will probably upset the lizardmen who lost the most men, but this started because the orcs were starving. Anyone from any race would've done the same thing in the same situation. That's my personal opinion at least." Papa said. 

"Alright, is there anything else?" The lizardman asked.

"I've taken on the sins of the orcs, so if you have any complaints direct them to me or my daughter Y/n." Papa said. An orc with a cape on stood up and looked at us. "We can't allow that. That burden isn't fair to you or your daughter." The orc said. 

"Too bad, I promised demon lord Geld." Papa said. The orc looked shocked before sitting back down, looking at the ground. "Alright, but your decision seems unfair to the rest of us." The lizardman said. Benimaru walked in front of us and looked at him. "There's one rule all monsters follow. 'Survival of the fittest'. That's how it's always been." Benimaru said.

"You guys lost your home over this, don't you have any complaints?" Papa asked. 

"We do, however we won't ever let that happen again." Benimaru said. 

"That's a valid point regarding this matter. What do you intend to do with the orcs?" The lizardman asked. Papa took a second and thought about it before turning to look at the lizardman. "What if we all work together?" Papa asked. 

"What do you mean?" The girl lizard man asked.

"The lizardmen will offer their clean water and fish, the goblins can off housing and processed goods, in return for those items the orcs will provide their labor." Papa said. The orcs gasped as they looked at us. "If we form an alliance we can make a nation where all monsters could coexist." Papa said.

"That would mean you'd want us orcs to be apart of your alliance, right?" The orc asked. 

"No offence, but what other options do you have? A little labor and you've got a place to live. No lazy bums allowed." Papa said. All the orcs teared up and got on the ground before bowing in front of us. "Right, of course. We'll work hardm in fact we'll devote our lives to helping." The orc said. I felt papa nod as he looked at them, papa turned and looked at the lizardman. "Well then, we look forward to working with you." He said. 

"Sounds good Treyni?" Papa asked.

"Yes, and the dryads will offer their protection and the bounty of the forest which should help the orcs starvation." Treyni said. The orcs began crying as they looked at Treyni. "Now as care taker of the forest, I, Treyni, shall make a new proclamation. I hearby appoint Rimuru and Y/n Tempest as the chancellors of the 'Great Forest of Jura.'" Treyni said standing up. She stepped forward in front of everyone. "The Jura Forest Alliance is now formed founded by Rimuru and Y/n, our new chancellors." Treyni said kneeling down in front of us. Everyone followed her and did the same in front of us. "Wait..." Papa said. I felt papa's slime moving down towards my lap as he looked at everyone. "Fine. I guess I can do it. As your new slime and neko chancellors we're counting on you." Papa said. After that we talked a bit more before heading towards the exit. Benimaru and the other kijin we already in front of us. "Stop here Y/n." Papa said. I stopped behind a rock and heard the orc talking with Benimaru.

"I'm so very sorry, and I know this request is a selfish one, but please take my head as penance and you have mercy on my people." The orc said. Benimaru told him about the titles that papa gave them. "I'm in charge of military affairs. Now that I have such an important role it'd be wrong of me to rob us of such a capable warrior. I will show no mercy to anyone who would harm lord Rimuru and lady Y/n, but if you join the alliance you and I aren't enemies." Benimaru said.
