Y/n's POV

After helping the princess recover from the sickness that she was suffering from we headed back to Barak's house for the night. Papa and I were in his room enjoying some peace and quiet before Souei showed up. "Lord RImuru, Lady Y/n. I have a report." Souei said.

"Alright, go ahead." Papa said, nodding for Souei to continue. Souei started talking about what was going on with the city before getting to the princes. "As for Prince Azlan, I would say my odds for defeating him are 50/50 at best." Souei said.

"Woah. He's really that tough?" I asked.

"Seriously? Wow! I guess I underestimated the guy. Could Benimaru defea him?" Papa asked.

"If he could fight without restrictions." Souei answered.

"What about me?" I asked.

"You have the best chance of defeating him after lord Rimuru." Souei said. I nodded happy to hear that I was still tough enough to take on a prince. "What about his personality?" Papa asked.

"He seems to look out for his friends. He gave me the impression of a bravfe and likeable young man with the air of a hero." Souei answered.

"So backing the Azlan faction might be the right move afterall. How are things on Pauro's end?"" Papa asked. Souei's expression shifted to one of anger as he thought about it. "He's been in a pub ordering drinks and snacks all day while constantly badmouthing you. He does seem to praise lady Y/n a fair amount though." Souei reported.

"Badmouthing me?" Papa asked. Souei explained one of the situations where he was badmouthing papa which made me giggle. "I see." Papa said through his teeth. I giggled a little more before papa looked back at me as I covered myself with his bed's blanket. "It's awkward, but no one suspects him at least." Souei said.

"Then it's all going as planned. Mostly. In that case, I'm going to go take care of something. Keep monitoring Pauro for me in the meantime." Papa said.

"Of course." Souei said, disappearing. I giggled as I uncovered myself from papa's blanket. "Ooo~ Someone's badmouthing papa." I teased. Papa grumbled before throwing a beanbag version of himself at me. "Take this!" Papa shouted. I caught it and hugged it close since it kind of smelled like him and was cool to the touch. "Now go to bed, otherwise I won't hear the end of it from Shuna." Papa said.

"Aw~ but I wanted to come along when you go see the princess again." I said.

"Well you can't, you didn't leave a Body Double behind for you to use to sneak around there." Papa said. I pouted a little before he threw another one of his bean bags of him at me. "Go to bed, sweetie." Papa said. I sighed and stuck out my tongue at him as I laid down in his bed. "Why don't you go use your own room?" Papa asked.

"Cause you said to go to bed and I'm on a bed." I said, setting the beanbag papa on either side of me. Papa sighed before ignoring me as I pulled the blanket back over me. Once I had covered myself I let out a yawn as my eyes slowly closed on their own while I fought to stay awake before falling asleep. The next day I woke up to someone holding spears at me while I saw papa being tied up. "She's just my apprentice, you don't need to take her. I'm the one who gave her the medicine." Papa said, looking at me.

"Can you hear me?" Papa asked, using telepathy.

"Yup, what do you need me to do?" I answered.

"Stay ready to help Benimaru and Souei when it comes to holding off the princes from fighting." Papa explained.

"Okay." I answered. I raised my hands as Chiffon rushed over to me and past the guards. "Since you're taking her teacher away why don't you let us watch over her until her teacher is proven guilty or innocent." Chiffon said. Gustav sighed before nodding. "Fine, I'll agree to that since these beast-person clearly doesn't know anything about what Rimuru did." Gustav said. The guards and Gustav quickly left with papa taking him to the castle before I got up. I pulled out a copy of Mama Shizu's outfit from my storage having Great Sage dye it from white to 2/f/c (second favorite color) while preparing myself to using some transformation with Mimic to look a little more like her for papa's plan. Once night came I stepped out onto the balcony of papa's room and used Mimic to make myself a little taller, look a little older and change my cat ears and tail into that of a fox. I made a copy of mama Shizu's mask and made it only half the size so it'd cover my eyes, but not my mouth. "Perfect, papa might think this is cool too." I said, hearing a more mature voice leave my mouth. I stepped onto the rail before jumping off heading to the top of a few buildings watching as Souei and Benimaru showed up in front of Barak's house.

"Who the hell are you?" An adventurer asked.

"Hey buddy, you better not be trying to stop us. Get in my way and you might regret it. Once I was barehanded, but no more I am known as staff master Pauro. Face me and see why. If you value your life then shut up and..." Pauro started. Souei used Flash Step rushing over to him before hitting him and sending him flying into a building. Pauro fell to the ground easily beaten by Souei as I jumped down to the ground. "That seemed a bit much." Benimaru said, as I walked up to them.

"Well he did say insulting things about our lord, think that's a fair punishment." Souei said.

"Hold on boys. Shouldn't get too carried away otherwise our lord will be upset." I said.

"Of course, my lady." Souei and Benimaru said, easily picking up on who I was.

"You really wanna pick a fight with us?" Another adventurer asked.

"Yeah don't get cocky just cause you beat Pauro. We barely knew the guy." Another adventurer said.

"Enough. Stand back." Prince Azlan said, stepping forward with Barak.

"The two of you can't beat any of these three. Especially the one who wears the mask." Barak said.

"I assume you three are assassins sent by that traitor Gustav. In which case I will show you no mercy." Azlan said.

"We're not assassins, and neither is our lady. However, we will stop you." Benimaru said.

"I don't have time to play games. Either get out of my way or die." Prince Azlan said. He rushed forward towards me before Benimaru stepped in and blocked the attack. "We won't let you harm our lady." Benimaru said. The two of them started clashing with each attack getting block on either side. I turned back to Barak seeing him staring down Souei. "You're the one who's been keeping watch around my house, aren't you? And you somehow you're familiar, but I can't figure out where I know your presence from." Barak said, looking from Souei to me.

"You may find out one day, but today is not that day." I said.

"Huh. I didn't think you'd notice." Souei said.

"You admit it then." Barak said. He drew his sword before charging towards Souei. Souei and Benimaru continued their fights as I turned my attention towards the adventurers who were just standing on the side lines. "Sorry adventurers, but you'll need to clear out of here." I said. The adventurers looked at me before turning and running in the other direction. I turned back seeing Souei's fight coming to an end before Barak surrendered. "It looks like your friend just surrendered. So what'll it be?" Benimaru asked.

"Our fight is just getting started." Prince Azlan said, rushing towards Benimaru again. As their blades clashed I felt papa's presence getting close before looking up at the sky. "Benimaru! Souei! Akira! I'm here everyone!" Papa shouted.
