Tossing and turning in his sleep, Sean lay on his side as he tried to find some bit of sleep. In the darkness of it all, Sean couldn’t help but hear the muffled sounds of gun shots. Not clear at first, Sean heard each gunshot become louder and louder with waves of screaming coming in. Overwhelmed with panic, Sean began to toss and turn until the echoes of gun shots intensified. One shot rang loudly but more glaring than the others causing Sean to quickly sit up in the bed in a cold sweat.

“Sean. Sean. Calm down” Ariana said as she rubbed his chest, trying to get his focus

“I heard shots. People…people were screaming. Running and screaming….” Sean began to say

“Which means you’re probably starting to remember it all” Ariana sighed as she knew this was all the side effects of his concussion beginning to wane “It was all so horrible, but it’s over now” she told him as he shook his head

“It’s not over” Sean said shaking his head

“As of now, it is. You have to let that night stay in that night, you’re fine and you will be fine” Ariana assured him before he got out of the bed “You need to sleep” she told him

“Clearly that’s not happening” Sean replied as he looked on at himself in the mirror

“Does this have more to do with your meeting today?” Ariana asked as Sean continued to stare at himself in his bandages in the mirror

“Because that’s just the highlight of my day” Sean replied sarcastically

“It may not be as bad as you think, you have to think positive” Ariana said trying to keep him hopeful “You have your doctor’s appointment coming up and then you’ll hear….” She began to say before realizing that she used a sensitive word “You’ll find out the progress that you’ve made. I mean you’re getting better, ever since the surgery” she pointed out

“Can’t make huge leaps and bounds with only a few hours since surgery” Sean told her as Ariana could sense that Sean was a bit more pessimistic than normal. Noticing that he was being a bit of an ass to her, Sean sighed as he walked over towards Ariana, taking a seat next to her on the bed. Pulling her towards him, Sean gave her a quick kiss to show that he didn’t mean to but just was in a mood “I love you, I’m just….I’m just trying” he groaned

“I know you’re trying, but you’ve got to stay positive” Ariana replied as she caressed his face “You’re going to start making steps towards getting all of your hearing back completely and you’ll put your album out on time, you’ll promote your album as expected and you will live your life as you’re supposed to” she told him

“And you believe that?” Sean asked with a bit of grin as he looked on at her

“I strongly believe that” Ariana smiled “You’re built for this moment and you will surpass this” she said before she leaned in to kiss her cheek. Leaning against her, Sean wrapped his arms around her waist as he rested against her.
