Listening on to Zeno and Tone debate and talk about what was current topics to them, Sean laughed to himself but remained silent. Going through his phone, Sean looked on at the encouraging text messages that Ariana had sent his way, he couldn’t help but smile to himself. It had been a crazy year with things ending with Naya, but in a span of weeks and getting his feelings together about her, Sean felt like this was the happiest he had been in a long time. With how he wanted to live his life, Sean wanted nothing but happiness around him and he was glad that he was finding that with Ariana in this new venture of his life. Taking a few deep breaths, Sean had to think about the task at hand and how big this moment was for him. Getting through this meeting and getting to the VMA’s was the most important thing for him.

“What’s up? How are you?” Jay-Z asked once Sean was escorted into the house, where Jay was getting ready for the VMA’s

“Good, how about yourself? You look like you getting ready to head out?” Sean asked as he greeted Jay

“Yeah, heading to that award show. B is getting her Vanguard award and I’m presenting it to her” Jay-Z said

“That’s a big moment” Sean smiled “I forget you and B been in the game for a while now” he said as he took a seat

“You keep spitting out the music, you forget the years” Jay-Z replied

“I know, that’s what I’m trying to do myself. Hopefully I’ll have the success you have” Sean replied “I’m heading over towards the awards as well, but I wanted to come through and definitely meet up with you” he said

“Cool, then you know time is of the essence” Jay-Z said as they both laughed “But listen, I wanted to set this meeting up with you to discuss your music” he said “I’ve heard some of your stuff that you’ve been working on and I’m very impressed” he stated

“Impressed from those days you thought I wouldn’t do shit?” Sean asked as he always mentioned his first encounter with Jay

“Yes, highly impressed. I guess my man Ye was right all along, I’m just fortunate to hop on the Clique track with you” Jay-Z replied “Now, I want to be able to help you out to move beyond” he said

“What do you mean?” Sean asked

“Your management ain’t doing right by you, not with the level that you’re reaching. You’re voice and tone come through so hard but you also can switch up for mainstream. Like that shit you did with Bieber, that shit made you bankable and then the Control track….you versatile and I don’t think you’ve been exposed to more” Jay-Z said

“I’m not going to down talk my management, but I guess there are rooms of improvement that I want to reach” Sean said
