Chapter 35 Back to School!

Rye POV

I open my eyes at the sound of my loud ass alarm. I turn it off and lay there abit, rubbing my eyes awake before sitting up. I yawn and look outside to see the sunshine and birds. Yay. I climb out of bed and walk to the bathroom across the hall from my room. I close the door and look at myself in the mirror. Some of my memory has come back but not all. I can't remember my siblings, my friends at school but I do remember my parents. Thank god. Would have been odd to live with people I don't know. Either way, its been 5 months anyway and in those 5 months I wasn't allowed to go to school. Kinda good for me but today I gotta go back. I wash up before leaving and walking downstairs to see Jas and Bryant on the couch with mom.

"Hey, morning. You sleep well?" mom asks. I nod and sit down. "Ready for school?"

"No, not really. I don't know anybody." I say looking down.

"It'll be okay. Your friends know you and know whats wrong too." she says. "You'll be fine."

"I hope so." I say as dad walks in.

"Morning, I'll take you to school today and pick you up if you want." he says sitting down next to mom. I nod and look down, trying to figure out how I'm going to get through the day. Its gonna suck, I know that but still. I stand up and head up to my room, getting some fresh clothes on then walking back down. 

~At School~

I get out of the car closing the door behind me.

"I'll be here when you get out." dad says. I nod and say goodbye before heading towards the main building. 

"Rye!" I jump and turn to see a boy and two girls walking towards me. "Your back, we missed you." the two girls give me a hug but one of them, caramel brown hair and bright blue eyes with the most perfect smile I've ever seen.

"Yeah? Thats great." I say staring at her. She smiles and looks down. 

"Its me! Jack! Your best friend!" he says making me smile abit.

"Yes..yes I know." I say looking down. "Sorry...its hard."

"Its okay, you'll be fine." he says as we make our way inside. We walk abit before stopping at some lockers. "This is your's. 495." I nod and open it up, putting some stuff in.

"Say..your name?" I ask the girl I was look at earlier. She smiles and sets the rest of her stuff in her locker before closing it.

"Emily." she says. "We used to hang out when we were alot younger." I smile.

"Could we hang out abit more?" I ask. She giggles and nods.

"Sure, why not." she says. "I live across the street from you." Inside I lose it. I just hope she ain't taken already. We walk down the hallway and into the class where we sit it the back. I sit down next to Emily.

"Hey man, what about me?" Jack says.

"Oh let him sit next to me for once." Emily says. He frowns and sits in front of us. "So, how are things since your back?"

"Pretty good. Its still hard but I get along but tell me about yourself. I don't really....know anything about you anymore." I say hoping to find out if she's single.

"I'm Emily Adams. 15 years old. I live across the street from you. We were best friends before you met Jack." she says. 

"Were? Did I do something to you?" I ask worried. She sighs and looks down.

"You kinda left me for Jack." she says.

"No..I'm sorry...I didn't mean it." I say.

"Oh I know. Its okay." she says. "We can hang out if you want."

"Awesome. Is there like..some boyfriend I should be worried about?" I ask making her laugh.

"No, lord no." she say making me freak out and dance on the inside. "How about right after school?"

"Sure! Yeah, that would be great." I say. She nods. Strangely I've met my friends, gone back to school and I think I fell in love....all on the first day back to school.
