Chapter 52 Ready for a New Life

Katniss POV

Days have past since what happened. Rye and Emily are finally doing better and Peeta nad I are perfect. We hoped that we could always keep our kids safe. Away from anything that happened in the past. Sure it was hard for us to see Gale again, him killing his own brother to keep me and Peeta safe was so amazing. I could never have thought he was alive. Now he's returned to his family and we're home again where we belong. 
I walk downstairs to be greeted by the scent of sweet pancakes and syrup making me smile. I walk to the kitchen where Peeta stands at the oven. He turns and smiles, walking over to me and kissing me lighty. Bruises still cover his face as mine too but they're getting better.

"You sleep well?" he asks as I sit down. I yawn and nod.

"I slept pretty good. Well as good as you can when getting over being kidnapped and beaten." I say. He shakes his head and gives me a plate full of food before sitting down next to me.

"You have any nightmares?" he asks looking worried.

"No, I just sleep through, which is good." I say taking a big bite making him smile.

"I wanted to make something nice for you, you deserve it." he says kissing my cheek before starting to eat himself. We eat for while, speaking a little here and there. Its hard to really talk since everything thats happens still lingers in our heads. After we're finished I wash the dishes and we walk to the living room, sitting down. I crawl into Peeta's lap and close my eyes. He wraps his arms around me and I smile

"Peeta....I was thinking. This whole place....it just reminds me of what happened..." I say looking up to him. 

"I know....I was thinking about that." he says.

"Why don't we.....why don't we move?" I ask. He looks at me funny but thinks for a moment.

"Where would we go?" he asks.

"Somewhere...new. To start fresh away from here." I say. He sighs and looks away.

"What about the kids? What do we tell them?" he asks.

"Rye and Emily will understand." I say. He nods and looks at me.

"If you think its the best choice I'm with you. I want something new where we can be safe." he says. I smile and pull him down for a kiss. 

~One Month Later~

After telling the kids and everybody we knew it was time to look for a new place and we found one. In the next state a nice country home, away from others but close enough to a little town. Of course the little ones weren't very happy at first but the thought of living in a nice new big house got them excited. We packed all the things and sold the house to a friendly new couple with a baby. We got the car ready and are outside with Finnick, Annie, mom and a few others. Everybody's crying too which is kinda making it worse

"I can't believe my little girl is really leaving." mom cries pulling me into her arms. I hug her tightly and let some tears fall as well.

"Oh mom....I'm not that far away. You can always come and visit." I say pulling back. She nods and gives me a kiss on both cheeks, hugging me again very tightly before letting go. I walk to Finnic who is holding back tears as well. "Finnick...without you we may be dead. You saved us." he smiles slightly.

"Hey it was nothing." he says giving me a big hug. "Good luck at your new place kitty. Thanks for being such a good friend." more tears come and I hug him tighter before letting go and moving to Annie who's already full on crying.

"Kat.....why  do you have to go???" she jumps on me holding me tightly I can't breath. I hug her back and kiss her cheek

"Oh Annie, please don't cry." I say rubbing her back. She pulls away and looks at me.

"Promise you'll come and visit!" she says. I nod and hug her again tightly. I pull back and walk to Peeta and the kids, giving one last look to our home and family. I smile and we get in the car. I look out the window, tears streaming down my cheeks as Peeta starts the car and drives away. Everything I knew is now slowly fading away. I turn and look to him. He sighs and reaches over, taking my hand and holding it tightly.

"We can do this Kitty. I promise." he says kissing it. I smile and nod, looking forward. Ready for my new life.

This ladies and gentlemen is the end of this book. I know the ending came all of a sudden but I was losing the feels for this book and I wanted to end it good. So thank you all for all the reads. It means the world to me how many love these books.

BUT!!! I was thinking since I left a little bit of an open ending like what happens? Are they happy? What about the kids? All that stuff and I wanna know from you guys if I should make the last book? I have a few ideas for it and if you all want it I will. Only then.
