Peeta POV
We step in the front building of the doctor's office but Katniss's grip on my hand only tightens. She's never liked the doctor but she knows its better to come here and make sure she's okay than to get worse. We talk to the nurse at the front desk before sitting down.
"Peeta..what if something really bad's wrong with me?" she says.
"Katniss, your gonna be fine. I'm sure of it." I say kissing her cheek. After a good 10 minutes of waiting we're finally called up.
"Mr. and Mrs. Mellark Room 54." the speaker says. We stand up and walk down the long, narrow hallway to our room. We sit down, Katniss still crushing my hand.
"Katniss, calm down." I say. "Your gonna be fine." than the doctor comes in. Dr. Ashburn.
"Katniss, Peeta. How are you doing?" she asks.
"Katniss isn't doing so well. Sickness, moody. stuff like that." I say. She turns and smile.
"Another baby?" she asks.
"No..we did a test, negative." I say.
"Hmm..alright, how about I do an ultra sound and see for sure. And we'll do a quick test again but I better one." she says. I nod and look to Katniss who's scared as ever. "Okay, lay down so I can to the ultra sound." she does and Ashburn pours the cream over her stomach before grabbing the camera. "You both know how this works?"
"Yes." I say. She nods and rubs the camera over her stomach.
"Hm...nothing but even if we couldn't see it anyway but it was worth a quick look." she says handing Katniss a towel. "Okay, I'm gonna give you a very good approved test."
"What kind is it?" Katniss asks.
"Like the everyday pregnancy test." she says handing it to her. "But its alot more improved than the everyday ones." Katniss nods and heads for the bathroom. "So Peeta, are you hoping for another baby?"
"I am but I don't think Katniss is. She never even wanted kids but I know she loves Rye. Its just kinda hard for her." I say.
"Yeah, your both still young and already has a son. It must be hard but I don't see anything wrong with her so there's no need to worry." she says. "But back to the other subject. When's the last time you two had sex?"
"Last week." I say.
"And did you use protection?" she asks.
"Well...we had abit to drink and I don't think so." I say looking down.
"Peeta its nothing to be ashamed of. But that could be the explanation." she says. Then Katniss walks back out. "Alright, let me see." she hands her the test. "Okay, its gonna take abit cause the test is made to be 99.9% correct." Katniss sits down and takes my hand but than I feel her shaking.
"Katniss..its alright. Your fine. She said so." I say. She nods and smiles slightly.
"Alright..I'm very glad to say that you are pregnant Katniss." Ashburn says.
"What?! Are you sure?" I ask excited.
"Yes, the test is positive." she says. I look to Katniss who's face goes from worried to a soft smile. "Congratulations."
"Thank you so much." I say standing up along with Katniss.
"And you both know the drill, anything feels wrong or you just wanna make sure the babies okay come to me." she says.
"We will, thank you Dr. Ashburn." Katniss says.
"Please call me Sarah." she says. We nod and leave the office, walking to the car and getting in.
"I told you baby, nothing bad." I say taking her hand.
"But another baby? How are we gonna do that?" she asks.
"We'll be fine, you have me and Rye will help too." I say. "Everything, really everything will be fin Kitty."
"Your right but lets go tell Rye." she says. I start the car and we drive home to see Rye sitting on the couch.
"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" I ask.
"We got out earlier and Mrs. Brown drove me home." he says. I nod and sit down along with Katniss.
"We've got some news for you Rye." she says.
"What? Really? Is it good?" he asks excited.
"Yes, very good." I say.
"Okay..tell me!" he says making us smile.
"Your gonna get a little brother or sister." Katniss says. He gives a look of disbelief before smiling.
"Really?! Like a real little brother or sister?!" he says jumping up.
"Yes! Really real." I say.
"I can't wait! I'm gonna do everything with him..or her!" he says giving us a tight hug. "I'm gonna clean my room for him...um..her!" he rushes for and up the stairs.
"Well that went better than planned." I say.
"Yeah and please no doctor for a while." she says.
"Sure." I say heading for the kitchen and grabbing an apple, walking back and handing it to her.
"Whats this for?" she asks.
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away Kitty." I say making her smile.
"So does protection." she says making me laugh. I really don't know how our life could get any better. I really don't.
