Chapter 14 Getting Better

Peeta POV

Something on top of me wakes me up. I open my eyes to see Katniss asleep on my chest. Yes, we have been trying new things and its really been helping. I never thought it would but it did. I smile and run my hand through her dark brown hair waking her up.

"Good morning." I say. She smiles and takes my hand, planting a soft kiss on it.

"Morning." she says. "What time is it?"

"8:32." I say. She groans and closes her eyes again.

"I don't wanna get up." she says making me smile.

"I will. I'm gonna make some breakfast and I'm come and get you, okay?" I say. She nods and pulls me down for a short kiss. I climb out of bed and leave the room, walking down the stairs to the living room.

"Dad?" I jump and see Rye on the couch. "Is everything better?"

"Whats better?" I ask. He sighs and looks down.

"Like..with you and mom." he says. I walk over to him and sit down.

"Yes, now everything is okay." I say wrapping my arm around him. "Trust me."

"Okay..I was just abit worried." he says. 

"Don't be but now lets make mommy some good breakfast." I say. He smiles and jumps up and runs to the kitchen as I follow. We decide on waffles and bacon so he makes the waffle batter while I get the bacon out as I hear footsteps behind me. Soon arms wrap around my waist and I see those beautiful, silver grey eyes.

"Good morning cupcake." she says. I smile and turn, leaning down and giving her a soft kiss.

"Morning kitty, sleep well?" I ask. She nods and walks over to Rye, giving him a light kiss.

"I slept great." she says sitting down. I smile and turn back to the food. I get everything done before bringing the plates to the table. "You?"

"Very." I say. "I was thinking. We all do something together today."

"Really? Like what?" Katniss asks.

"Well..maybe Rye could pick." I say looking to him.

"Can we go to the lake?" he asks.

"Sure, why not? Could be fun. We can go with Finnick and Annie." I say. They nod an we finish out breakfast. We all end up in the living room. "So, when should we go?"

"In an hour, we'll stay the night." Kat says. I nod and Rye jumps up.

"I'll go pack!" he says before bolting up the stairs.

"Its a good idea to go to the lake." she says scooting closer to me.

"It is and I'm sure you and I can have a little...extra fun." I say wrapping my arm around her making her smile.

"I hope so. I'll call Finnick and Annie. Can you help him pack?" she asks. I nod and kiss her cheek before standing up and heading up the stairs to Rye's room. I knock lightly before walking in.

"You need some help?" I ask.

"Yeah...it would be nice." he says. "Do you wanna go alone with mommy?"

"What? Why?" I ask.

"Because you want some...extra fun. What does that mean? Like...super fun games?" he asks. My cheeks flush red as I smile.

"Umm...no..well...I'll explain it to you some day, alright?" I say. "Its...adult games."

"Oh..so not for me?" he asks.

"Nope, just for me and mommy but like I said, I'll tell you some day." I say. He nods and we pack for him. 

"Can I help you and mommy pack?" he asks.

"Sure, come on." I say standing up. He does as well and we make our way to my room where Katniss is sitting.

"They're coming. We're meeting them in 2 hours at they're house." she says. I nod and get my small travel bag from the closet.

"Rye wants to help." I say. She nods and we pack all things we may need.

"I'm gonna get my toothbrush." Rye says walking out. I walk over to Katniss and wrap my arms around her waist.

"We're getting better Kitty." I say giving her a light kiss.

"I know...and everything can only get better I hope." she says. I nod and lean in for another kiss. Thins are really getting better for us and she's right. Its can only get better.

I'm really sorry about the late update but I had no will whatsoever to write but its good now. We all have that some time. But here it is and I hope its good.
