Chapter 18 I Had a Thought

Katniss POV

Peeta walks back out with a worried look.

"Whats wrong?" I ask.

"Can I talk to you alone please?" he asks. I nod and stand up, following him out of the room and to the kitchen.

"Is something bad wrong?" I ask. He turns around, running his hand through his hair and shaking. "Peeta, what is it?"

"Ashburn just called." he says sitting down.

"Okay, and?" I ask.

"Your....pregnant again." he says. I sigh and walk over to him, sitting down on his lap.

"I had a thought about that." I say. "I had a feeling I was." he lets out a long breath and smiles.

"I thought you would freak out." he says.

"No, god no. I'm fine about it. What did she say?" I ask.

"That we should come in later." he says. I nod and stand up.

"Lets tell the others than." I say. He nods and we walk back to the living room.

"Hey, whats going on?" Annie asks.

"We gotta tell you guys something." I say looking to Peeta who smiles.

"Oh..okay and?" Finnick says.

"Katniss is pregnant again." Peeta says. Both smile and Annie rushes to me, giving me a big hug.

"Oh my god Katniss!" she says making me smile even more.

 "Really? Since when have you known?" Finnick asks giving me a hug.

"Since just now. Our doctor just called." Peeta says.

"Thats amazing!" Annie says. "Our babies won't be born far apart." I smile and nod, looking to Rye who looks worried.

"Whats wrong?" I ask kneeling down to him.

"What if we lose the baby like that last one?" he says.  

 "Rye, don't think like that." I say." Its gonna be alright. I promise."

"Okay, I hope so." he says.

"It'll be fine now lets go to the doctor." I say picking him up.

"I wanna talk." Peeta says wrapping his arms around me from behind and rubbing small circles on my stomach.

"Lets go upstairs and get ready." I say taking his hand and pulling him up the stairs to our room.

"Are you really sure you want another baby?" he asks. I sigh and sit down.

"Peeta...I don't know. I really don't. I'm afraid that I'll lose it again." I say. He walks over to me and kneels down, taking my hands.

"I will not let that happen, I promise." he says. "Katniss please anytime you feel weird, or strange tell me right away and we'll go to Ashburn, okay?"

"Alright. I promise." I say. He smiles and pulls me down for a short kiss before standing up. I do as well and walk to the closet, pulling out some clothes for today. We get dressed and head back down to Annie and Finnick.

"Should we take Rye?" Annie asks.

"That would be great. We'll hurry." I say leaning down and giving him a kiss. Peeta does the same and we head out to the car. Peeta drives us to the doctor and we walk inside.

"Ahh..Peeta and Katniss Mellark." the nurse says. "Ashburn is waiting for you." we nod and walk down the hall and into Ashburn's office where she's already sitting.

"Good morning Katniss. I thought I would have you come on my day off." she says.

"Day off? You didn't have to do that." I say sitting down.

"Well, you two are special to me. Your here more than anybody." she says.

"Thank you." Peeta says.

"Well lets take a quick look on the ultra shall." she says. I nod and walk over to the table, laying down and letting her pour the cool cream over my stomach and rub the little camera on as well. "Alright...its very...very small and you can't tell what it is but its there." I smile and look to Peeta.

"And..it'll be okay, right?" he asks.

"It should be. Look, what happened almost never does. Katniss and the baby should be safe." she says. I nod and she wipes the cream off so I can sit up. "Come back every month for a check but when you want of you feel something's wrong."

"Okay, thank you Ashburn." I say. She nods and we leave the clinic. At that moment I was so happy but I wasn't thinking about....what was to come. I wasn't ready. And it would...destroy me.

Oh, and the most picked names for they're baby was Willow for a girl. Well, give me some boy names cause I didn't get many of them. If its a girl, Willow will be picked.
