Chapter 19 Super Surprise

Peeta POV

"Peeta!" I'm torn from my sleep from Katniss's voice. "Come here!" she yells. I groan and stand up, walking out of my room and down to the living room.

"What is it?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

"I'm hungry." she says. I sigh and nod. "I want cheese buns." 

"Yeah..okay." I say heading for kitchen. She's in her 5th month and a real handful. Yelling, crying, cussing, all kinds of fun things. As I start to get everything mixed Rye walks in. He turned 7 two months ago and having to take the full rage of Katniss. I know he understands it cause it happened before but still.

"Dad...mom's being mean." he says sitting down.

"I know Rye, I've seen it by now." I say mixing some cheese with some spices.

"But its really getting on my nerves that all she does is yell at me." he says.

"I know. She does it to me too and its worse than last time." I say putting the cheese into the bread and putting it in the oven. "Look we can get through this."

"I know but...I wish she would be nice." he says looking down.

"Should I take to her?" I ask.

"I don't want her yelling at you." he says.

"I've know her my whole life. I can see what I can do." I say standing up. He nods as I walk out to the living room where she's sitting.

"Hi Peeta." she says as I walk over to her.

"Can we talk?" I ask.

"What? Are you...you leaving me?!" she asks as the tears start to flow.

"Good god no! Katniss no! Never." I say pulling her close. "I would never leave you."

"Oh...thank god." she says smiling.

"No but I wanted to talk to you about Rye." I say. 

"Umm..okay? Is something wrong with him?" she asks.

"Well...kinda..you gotta be calm and nice around him." I say. "You've been yelling at him alot."

"I don't mean to." she says looking down. "I don't want to hurt him."

"I know that. Just be abit more careful." I say. She nods and sighs. "But hey, today we'll find out what the baby is." I carefully place my hand on her stomach making her smile.

 "I know. I can't wait." she says. "I have a feeling its another girl."

"Oh sure. I bet its a boy." I say.

"No, I want a daughter." she says.

"Well...we'll see but I think its a boy." I say making her smile even more.

"Nope, its a girl." she says. I roll my eyes and stand up, walking to the kitchen.

"And? Did she try to kill you?" he asks making me laugh.

"No, she understood what I meant. You'll be fine and Auntie Annie is coming over to watch you while we're at the doctors." I say. He nods as I take the cheese buns out which do cook pretty fast. I put them on a plate and head back out to Katniss.

"Thanks so much Peeta." she says taking it from me. I nod and sit down. 

~2 Hours Later~

"Katniss come on, we're gonna be late." I say pulling my jacket on. Its the beginning of Fall and I'm loving it. All the colors. She comes out of the bathroom and grabs her jacket, letting me help her put it on.

 "Alright, lets get going!" she says heading out the door. Annie took Rye to her house already so I close the door and follow Katniss to the car. I open the door for her before getting in myself. We drive to the clinic and I help her out. We walk up the steps and inside to see Ashburn.

"Ahh..good to see you two. You ready to know the baby's sex today?" she asks. We nod and follow her to her office where Katniss lays down and I sit next to her. Ashburn gets everything ready and starts the ultra shall. "So, what you guys think it is?"

"I think its a boy." I say.

"Its a girl." she says.

"Okay, calm down. We'll see now." she says. "Alright so we got the head, the little arms and the....oh." 

"What? What is it?!" I ask worried. 

"Umm..well..I...your having triplets." she says. 

"Wha....what?" I ask not believing what she just said.

"Your having three babies Katniss." she says. Kat just sits there before smiling like crazy.

"Three? At one time?!" she asks excited.

"Well..yes...some say that having more than one baby isn't hard at all." she says. As excited as she is I can't help but worry. What if something happens? What if we lose one...or two...or all of them?
