Chapter 23 The 'Talk'

Peeta POV

I open the door to the house to see Rye and one of his friends Benny watching TV.

"Hey Rye, Ben." I say as Katniss comes in behind me.

"Hi dad." Rye says. "Can Ben stay over night?"

"Well.." I look to Katniss who gives me a glare. "Not tonight but tomorrow, how's that? Its friday then."

"Yeah..thats better." he says.

"Peeta." Katniss says. I follow her to the kitchen. "I want you to talk to him today."

"I know..I will. I promise." I say. "Just..lets wait till Ben's gone."

"Good, I'm gonna go to Annie's. I promised." she says.

"Alright, if you need something. Call." I say giving her a light kiss. She smiles and leaves me with the boys. "Where are your brothers and sister?"

"Upstairs." he says.

"You should watch them." I say.

"They're 7 dad. They can take care of themselves." he says.

"And your 13 and they're older brother. Its your job to watch them right now." I say. He rolls his eyes but because of Ben I don't rip his head off. I head upstairs to the triplets room to hear laughing. I open the door and see them running around. "Hey..what you doing?"

"Daddy!" the all yell jumping on me.

"What you playing?" I ask sitting down.

"We're playing knights." Jas says smiling. Everytime she smiles I do. She has Katniss smile, so perfect. All of them really show that they're from us. Jas has long, ashy blonde hair and blue eyes but Katniss's personality and smile. Jace has dark brown hair and grey eyes but mostly my personality. And little Bryant has kind of a mixture between blond and brown hair and kinda..silver, blue eyes. He's mostly split in our personalities so its all pretty good.

"Well..thats good. I'm glad. How was school?" I ask as I life her up onto my lap.

"School was great! We're drawing pictures on our families." she says.

"Thats awesome. We never did stuff like that when I was your age." I say.

"Really? Your school sounds bad." Jace says.

"Its the same school you go to silly." I say making him smile. "But..who's hungry?"

"We are!" they all say at the same time. I smile and we all leave the room, heading downstairs but as I get there Rye and Ben jump, hiding something under the couch pillow.

"Why don't you three head to the kitchen?" I ask. They nod and walk to there as I to Rye and Ben. "What is that?"

"Nothing." Rye says.

"Umm..sorry..I gotta go." Ben says getting up and heading out the front door.

"What is that?!" I raise my voice.

"Its just a magazine." he says looking down.

"If its not bad show me." I say holding my hand out.

"Its about games dad. You wouldn't get it." he says standing up.

"Sit your ass down and show me the magazine!" I yell. He jumps and sighs, reaching down and pulling it out and handing it to me. I thought so. Porn. "Where did you get this?"

"One of the high school students is selling them." he says looking down.

"For how much?" I ask.

"50$" he says.

"Damn it Rye! What will your mother think if she finds out your reading this stuff?" I say. "Your too young for this."

"But...I wanted to read it. Nobody forced me." he says.

"Thats not the point. The is not for your. Your 13 years old! Your still a child!" I says. "You have 3 siblings to look after."

"I'm sorry dad." he says looking down. I sigh and run my hand through my hair. I was the same way at his age. I sigh down next to him.

"Look, I'm not mad." I say. "I'm just disappointed. You know you shouldn't be reading these things."

"I know dad but...I like them. I've read them at school." he says. Oh..it just keeps getting better but you gotta give him a reward for honesty.

"Rye, you are too young for this. I don't want you reading these anymore." I say.

"But...can I ask...what are they? What are they doing?" he asks.

"I thought so." I say looking down. "Its sex."

"I know what its called. What is it?" he asks.

"Well...its how..uhh...how a man and woman...make...love." I say...I know. I really suck at it and I have 4 kids.

"Make love? I thought making love was just kissing and stuff." he says.

"Yes..well..its..umm...making your partner feel good...there." I say.

"Like?" he asks.

"We can do it to ourselves, which helps us know what we like and do it with the person we love." I say.

"You can do it to yourself?" he asks. I know..a 13 year old who doesn't know how to do this? Well..Rye isn't like this. I'm also sure he wasn't ever interested in this stuff till now. 

"Yes. Everybody does it, boys and girls." I say.

"How?" he asks. Ahhhh...come on!

"Well..you can do it with your hand." I say. "Just..uhh...umm.."

"Dad...I think you do it yourself." he says surprising me. I never masturbate, really cause I have Katniss...its just not really a thing I do but I used to of course.

"Its hard to explain but your have rub your...privates with your hand. In anyway you want till you find what you like."

"Ok..and with girls?" he asks.

"Ok..thats really enough. Thats something you don't need to know yet." I say standing up. "Now help me cook." he nods and follows me to the kitchen. This is gonna be something I remember for the rest of my life..thats for sure.
