Chapter 40 Love in the New Generation

Rye POV

"Hey." I turn and see Emily making me smile. She walks over to me but stops. "Did you mean it?"

"That I love you?" I ask. She looks down and nods. "Yes..I did. I love you. I have the second I saw you." she blushes. "I think your eyes and amazing, your smile is so damn cute, you blush so much and its cute.

"Rye...stop it!" she says trying to push me back playfully but I take her hands and pull her against me. She looks down but I lift her chin and kiss her lips lightly. Her hands wrap around my neck. Soon the kiss breaks and she hugs me tightly.

"I've been waiting for you to say that." she whispers. I smile and hug her back as the bell rings. Students walk in as we pull apart. "Why don't we ditch today?" 

"Somebody being a bad girl?" I say making her smile.

"Come on...once never hurts." she says. I nod and we leave the school without anybody seeing us and we head for the woods. We walk in and I take her to the spot where mom took me the day I got stabbed. We sit down on the edge of the hill, she rests her head on my shoulder. "How long?"

"What?" I ask confused.

"How long were you waiting to say that?" she asks looking up to me. I chuckle and shrug.

"A long time." I say. "I never got to tell you. I had such a horrid nightmare too." 

"What? What kind?" she asks.

"About being taken from my family, you hating me, my family hating me. Everything. I've been having them so much lately but I haven't really...said anything about them." I say looking down. She pulls me close and kisses my cheek.

"I'm so sorry Rye." she says. I shake my head and smile.

"I'm sure my nights would be better if you were there." I say. She rolls her eyes.

"Your such a horny little ass." she says.

"Ohh...come on. I meant just a sleep over." I say. She looks at me before shrugging.

"Why not but will your parents allow it?" she asks. They are really strict about sleepovers, mostly when it comes to Emily.

"We'll ask but until then lets just relax." I say. She nods so we lay back against a tree, she rests her head on my chest as I wrap my arms around her. The sun keeps us warm as a light breeze flows through the woods. I close my eyes as the sweet sound of birds chirping fills my ears.

"Rye?" she asks.

"Yes?" I ask. She snuggles abit closer to me.

"I've loved you for..a long time. Even before the accident." she says. This takes me abit by surprise.

"What?" I ask. "Really?" she nods and looks up to me, her chin still on my chest as she looks up to me.

"Yeah....I just never told you cause you liked Abby.(LOL if you remember Abby)" she says. I sigh and run my hand through her hair.

"I do love you Emily." I say. "I'm sorry for anything bad I did to you before that I don't remember." she smiles.

"You were always a sweet boy." she says sitting up abit and giving me a kiss. I kiss her back and pull her tightly.

"I'm glad." I say and she lays back down. I smile and close my eyes again, enjoying the peace I'm having with the girl I love more than anything.

~Later~

I open the door to my house, seeing dad sitting on the couch. He smiles when he see's Emily and I.

"Hey, how was school?" he asks.

"Ahh..pretty good." I say. "Say...can Emily stay over night? We wanted to have a movie night." he gives me a 'You know your mother's gonna say no' look. "Please dad."

"Ahhh..how about a deal? You do more work in the bakery and I'll make sure your mother doesn't have a problem with it." he says. If you know my parents like I do that means he's gonna have sex with my mom. Yeah...I've heard it cause they can't hide it no more but.....it's still gross.

"Sure...they we'll just go to her house and pick up some clothes." I say.

"If my parents allow it too" she says.

"I'll call." dad says. She nods and we leave, heading for her house. This was yet to become the best night....of my life.
