This sucks.
Race looks over at Spot, who sat in one of those uncomfortable hospital chairs, asleep.
Race, however, was wide awake.
And yes, it was the middle of the night; around 1 to 2am.
Race had been hoping he could fall asleep so he could ignore the pain and anxiety he got from being in the hospital.
Alas, it didn't happen.
Race grabs his phone from off of the table, turning it on.
He was immediately hit with a flash of brightness that he quickly fumbled to turn down.
Geez, now I see why the boys say my phone is like a mini sun. I keep the brightness so high.
Race opens his phone, seeing who he could contact.
He clicked on Romeo's contact.
Race bites his lip. He told me to contact him if I need him overnight and he hates sleep.
Will he get annoyed?
Will I get scolded?
Race clicked to type out a message.
He needed him right now.
Romeo
Race: Hi. Are you awake?
Race mentally smacked himself for typing such an awkward message.
He's probably not even aw-
Romeo: Racetrack Higgins, it's 1:47am
He's mad at me. I shouldn't have-
Romeo: Of course I'm awake
What do you need brother?
Race was feeling immensely grateful for Romeo at this point in time.
Race: It's just- been a long day.

Race nods softly.
A second later, another text popped up on his screen.
Romeo: did you just nod
Race's face turns bright red.
Race: What? No!
Race pictures Romeo smirking.
Romeo: I don't believe you lol
Race: and you probably shouldn't.
Race could hear Romeo's chuckles.
