Tom's POV

I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon.  A smile comes to my lips as I rise from my bed.  I had taught (Y/N) how to cook some Midgard dishes, and she picked them up so fast.  I expected some of the foods to overlap, but I hadn't known that the food was almost completely different from ours.

I find her in the kitchen, scraping the food onto a plate.  Hearing my arrival, she looks over at me and smiles weakly.  (Y/N) hands me the plate and sits down at the island countertop.  I notice that her plate is missing.

"You're not eating?"  She shakes her head, and I frown.  She hasn't had the appetite for the past week. Her form was slowly slipping away, she getting thinner and thinner by the day.  I sit down on the stool next to her and pull her stool closer to me.  Stabbing at my eggs, I hold up my fork to her mouth.

        "Tom, please--"

"You need your strength."  Rather than give in, she pushes the fork away and gets up, walking away.

"It's useless.  Don't waste it on me."  She goes and sits by the window, watching, waiting, praying for a sign, something, anything that would show that he was coming for her.  For the past eight days, all it brought her was heavy disappointments and sleepless nights.

After eating a few bites, I walk over to her.  She doesn't even turn around.  I hug her, forcing the huge pockets of empty space from underneath the sweatshirt to disappear.  It was already too big when I lent it to her, but not eating made it look like she was a child playing in her mother's clothing.  I sit down next to her, watching her watch the sky.

"You can stay here," I say after a moment of silence.  "Or I can ask Sarah or Emma if you could stay with them.  I'm sure they won't mind."  A tears slips down her face.

"It hurts, Tom.  My chest really hurts."  I wrap my arm around her shoulders, and her head falls against me.  She buries her face in my chest, and I can feel more tears soak through my shirt.

"It's hurting me so much."  I kiss the top of her head and hug her tighter.

        "Shh, I've got you."

"My chest really hurts," I hear her mumble. I smooth our her hair, rubbing the back of her head.

"(Y/N), I--"  All of a sudden, the leaning on my chest grows heavier, she turning into dead weight.  My heart beats faster, as if compensating for the slowing of her own heart.  I place her down as quickly and gently as I can and run to the phone.

        "What's your emergency?"

"I need an ambulance, please hurry!"

Your POV

Everything was so colorful as you opened your eyes.  You were on rainbow bridge, still in the outfit you last wore in Midgard.  You turn all around, everything but the Bifrost hidden in darkness.  Barefoot, you walk to the golden dome.

Inside, you're greeted with reflections of yourself, the walls entirely made of mirrors.  You walk up to one, and the images of you turn around and walk away.  You turn back around, and Thor is looking right at you.  With a sad look, he turns around and walks away.  You go after him, following him down rainbow bridge.

"Wait!  Where's Loki?"  He remains silent, picking up his place to a jog.  As you move faster, he throws his hammer forward, launching himself with it as his grip remains fixed on Mjolnir's handle.  You watch him fly away and watch as Asgard, once completely dark and black, start to come into view.  Instead of radiating a golden aura, it's dull, grey, and lfieless.  You look down beneath the bridge, and for the first time, You notice that the sea, once luscious and flowing, was dried up, the ground cracked and hardened.
