Tom's POV

"Are you having fun?" Benedict says loudly.

"It's crazy in here!"  The music was blasting, the food was going low, and everyone was either talking or on the dance floor.  To celebrate the wedding together, Benedit and Sophia decided to throw a party.

        "Tom, look over there."

I do, and it's (Y/N).  I've seen her quite often, but I've never had enough courage to approach her.  Sometimes, Benedict says, she looks at me as if she's debating on talking to me, but she rarely does.  And when she does, I can't stop smiling, and afterwards, I turn red from embarrassment.

"Go say something to her," Benedict encourages.

        "Now?"

        "No, tomorrow.  Yes now!"

I start to walk over reluctantly, but (Y/N) goes over to talk to Sophia.  I dare not to interrupt.

"Just go for it," a voice says behind me.  I turn around, and it's Martin Freeman.

        "How do you know?"

"You've been looking over at her for the past twenty minutes," he replies.  "And if you haven't noticed, newsflash!  She has a thing for you, too."

        "Really?"

I turn back, and Sophia is taking her to the dance floor.

"Go and show off," Benedict says, patting my back.  "Everyone knows you're an amazing dancer.  Now let's go!"

He pulls my arm and drags me to the edge of the dance floor.  I walk closer to the center, and I see (Y/N) dancing.  With a deep breath, I make my way to her, bopping along to the music.  I start to dance, and she smiles.  It only encourages me to dance even more, her making me move.

"You're a really talented dancer!" (Y/N) compliments over the pumping music.

        "Thanks!"

"You'll have to teach me sometime!"

"Here," I say, standing next to her.  I kick out my leg, and she mimics me.  I go faster, and she follows.  We're both laughing.

        "See, you're getting it!"

        "Horribly at that!"

"No, it's fine!  You're having fun with it, and that's what counts!"

She smiles at me.  Before we can get into an actual conversation, the music turns down, and everyone looks to the back of the room.  Martin was with Benedict and Sophia.  It was time for speeches.

I couldn't focus.  Because right next to me, only six iniches away, was (Y/N), the woman who I first saw out the corner of my eye; the woman who shied away in the corner because she felt insecure; the woman who made everyone else smile even though inside she was breaking; the woman who believed in other more than she believed in herself; the woman who I was falling more in love with by the second.

Maybe that's why I smiled so mcuh around her, because her sadness is imprinted on my heart, and it pains me too much.  Maybe it's others happiness that is her remedy.  But if it isn't, it can be a reminder that she has someone to turn to, that if she ever loses her way, that I'll find her.

Her warmth is lost as she goes up to say a few words about the couple.  Her words slip out of her mouth like sweet music, it echoing and wrapping around me like a blanket.

Before I know it, everyone is back to normal, talking and jamming to the music.  I feel someone tap my shoulder.  I turn around, and my heartbeat skyrockets.

"Come on, I have to show you something."

        "Alright.  Show me."

We weave through the crowd and head outside.  She kicks off her heels and starts running.  I laugh and go faster, running with her footsteps.

She leads us to the riverbank.  The sky is open, the multitude of stars blinking back at us.

        "Wait for it," she whispers.

Seconds later, the sky fills with booming colors.  It's a beautiful night show.

"We're going to try to surprise Benedict and Sophia after the receptions speeches with these," (Y/N) explains.  "I thought you might like them."

        "They're going to love it."

We continue to watch them.  I look over at her, and she's still looking to the sky.  I look down and take her hand into mine.  To my surprise, she squeezes my hand.

"Thank you for showing me this.  You didn't have to."

        "No, I didn't have to."

I smile to myself.  Maybe this is silent love.

(Y/N) faces me, and I face her back.  "Tom, I kind of have tell you something."

"You don't have to, because I feel the same way."  I kiss her forehead, and I can feel her smile into my chest.  We watch the rest of the fireworks, love in lights, and we stood closer than ever before.
