Loki's POV

She wasn't anywhere. Not in the throne room, not in her room. Not with Sif, nor Volstagg, nor Hogun, nor Fandral. With each disappointment, my heart sank further and further.

Surely she must have heard me. And now she's hiding from me in shame.

I check her room one last time, anticipating her return, but it was as bare as I first found it. With a sigh, I head to the Bifröst. Heimdall was my last hope.

"And what pleasure do I owe this visit?" he asks as I remove the helmet off my head.

"I need a favor."

"I fear this requires me finding (Y/N)." I have to let out a chuckle.

"I do this too often, don't I?"

"You fear for her safety," he replies without a hint of annoyance. "I have never seen you care for someone so much, save your mother."

"Heimdall, where is she? Is she alright?" He takes a minute to search all the realms.

"She has returned to Asgard. She is on her way back to the palace." He turns to me. "She's looking for you."

Instantly my cheeks flush. She did hear me. I let out a sigh.

"I thought this was to be good news, my prince."

"It is," I respond unenthused. "I'm just not particularly fond of what follows."

"Don't you have a silver tongue for woman troubles?"

"That's what got me into this mess," I confess. My hands put my horned helmet back onto my head. "Well, here goes nothing."

"I would not worry," Heimdall consoles as I step out. Stopping in the archway, I turn around.

"And why is that?"

"I have seen the way she cherishes you. She will not be too hard on you."

"I hope that you are right."

I take the long walk back to the palace, searching through the places I had been before. I even checked all the towers this time, but still I could not find her. But as I went down the hall towards the maiden's chambers, I felt a hand tug mine back. I turn around.

"Hi." God, she looked so beautiful. (Y/N) had changed her dress, from a cringing crimson to glorious green. She sparkled liked an eye-catching emerald.

"I've been looking for you," we both say at the same time.

"I—" we start again. "Oh no, you—" In order to stop speaking simultaneously, I cover her mouth, the touch of her lips, although not on mine, making me swoon.

"Listen, I'm so so sorry for what I said and how I treated you earlier. The last thing I ever wanted to do was to hurt you, I just wanted to protect you with Fandral. And with Thor, that was low of me, and I shouldn't stand in the way of your happiness. But I just wanted what was best for you, and I know that you can do so much better."

She tries to say something, but it's muffled. I keep talking, "I know you're mad, and I completely agree, you have every right to be upset with me but—"

(Y/N) rips my hands off her mouth. "Can you just shut up for one second?!" Before I could even think, she forces her lips onto mine, making my heart race. I'm pulled closer, she grabbing the horns of my helmet. I hold onto her waist and push my lips back on hers with more vigor, wanting this moment for months now.

She broke the kiss after eight seconds, both of us breathless.

"Now can I talk?" I nod, biting my bottom lip, craving the taste of her once more. "Alright then. Yes, I heard, and I understand why you did what you did. And I'm glad that you're were trying to maintain my honor."

"But it wasn't the way for me to do it."

"No, absolutely not. But I forgive you." I grin, slowly nuzzling my nose on hers, feeling a smile come across her cheeks.

"Guess this means you didn't my note," she says softly.

"No, what note?" I ask, not breaking from the closeness.

"You'll just have to see," she says, pulling away from me. I grab onto her arm and pull her back to me.

"No, tell me. Right here." She looks up at me, and I have to restrain myself from kissing her again. It's not the time.

"Must you be so impatient?"

"When it comes to you? Darling, I've been waiting months to be where we are now." Her beam widens.

"Months?"

"(Y/N), whether you see it or not, it's not hard to fall for you." She pecks my nose.

"Cute, but you still have to wait to read my note." I give her a smirk.

"Alright then." Taking her by the hand, I walk us back to my room. She laughs.

"Let me guess, you want me to see your reaction?"

"No, I want to show you off." I turn back to her. "For once, I win."
