"Hello?"  You wander around the trophy room, holding a note in your hand.  It was typed, had no fingerprints, leaving it completely anonymous.

Meet me at the Trophy Room at 10:00.

You almost didn't go.  Before being captured and sent to Asgard, you lived on Earth with your family.  And you'd watched too many crime shows to know that these things didn't end well.  But then again, this was Asgard.  Anything was possible, even happy endings.

What made you shake was the fact that there were no guards.  You figured they would be down there.  All of the most prized possessions of Asgard were here: the Inifinity Gauntlet, the Tablet of Life and Time, the Orb of Agamotto.  You smile when you look at the Casket of Ancient Winters.  When you first came here, you always confused it for the tesseract, what Loki had stolen a few years earlier.  With this, your shaking began to lessen, your hand and footsteps more steady.  Loki always made things better, even memories of him.

You had brought this up to him, but he seemed too busy with other matters.  There were so many other more important things Odin wanted him to do.  The image of dozens of stacks of books and piles of paper on his desk seered your brain, Loki working non stop.  Any response you did get from him was half-hearted "uh huh"s and "mhm"s.

"Careful," a booming voice warns behind you.  You jump, completely frightened.  It laughs, and with a stroll forward, the source reveals to be a blonde and bulky Asgardian wearing royal garments.

"I wish not your banishment for tampering with these items."

"Thor!  You scared me half to death!"

"Well, no one would want that fate."  He steps closer to you, and you step back, not liking the closeness.  You hold up the note.

        "Was this your doing?"

"I would be lying if I said no."  You raise your eyebrow.

"I see you all the time.  Why must we meet so secreti--" Without warning, Thor grabs you by your waist and forces his lips against yours.  You try to push back, but your strength is no match for his.

"Thor, sto--" you managed to get out, but he wouldn't have it, continuing to seal your mouth against his.  The only thing that made him stop is the sound of another voice, someone's your both knew well.

"Enough!"  Thor drops you and you scramble away in the direction of the voice.

"Brother, I thought other things would preoccupy you."

"Loki, I--" you tried to explain, but he glared his burning, now red, eyes at you.

"I'll deal with you later,"  he snaps before turning back to Thor.  "And as for you, 'Brother,' I was busy, but I knew that (Y/N) was worried about this strange note, so I decided to come down here just in case she needed me.  I see this is why you shouldn't be late."

"Putting off your duties is not the way of an heir."  Loki grinds his teeth.

"You are getting off subject.  You know that Odin told you of your boundaries."

"(Y/N) is only a maidservant.  Of what value do you have for her?"  With that, Loki lunges at Thor, and battle ensues.  Jotun against Asgardian, brother against brother.  Sooner or later, you knew hard feelings were going to resurface, but this wasn't the time or place you ever imagined.

Loki grabs the Casket of Ancient Winters and attempts to freeze Thor, who dodges the icy blast.  You hide behind a pillar, the power of the casket freezing the Warlock's Eye and Eternal Flame.

        "This is nonsense!" Thor exclaims.

"You always had everything you ever wanted," Loki barks back, "and the moment I'm actually happy, you have to strip it away from me!"

"She could never be happy with you."  Angrier, Loki emits another artic blast, causing icicles to come out the walls.  Before he could be beamed, Thor grabs a hold of Loki from the back and makes him drop the casket.  With newfound determination to end the fighting, you try to pull Thor back.

"Stop it!  Stop it both fo you!"  Thor pushes you off of him, you hitting your head on the wall of ice.

All of a sudden, a thud is heard from the upper level, and the doors behind the casket's podium unlock.  The fighting ceases as the Destroyer walks out.  The metal panels start to separate, and the eyes of Thor and Loki widened.  You rub your head and look at the sight, the metal guardian about to send forth a fiery ray.  All three of you hide behind separate pillars, feeling the heat of the fire passing by you.

You look around your pillar and see the Destroyer raising its arm towards Loki, who is unaware as he checks on your pillar.  Not thinking, you run out of your hiding place.

        "Loki, no!"

"(Y/N), what are--" You push him out the way and take the metal blow just in time.  The Destroyer sends you flying across the room.  You find yourself pinned against it, an icicle impaling your stomach.  The guardian goes back to his place, and Loki, changing back to an Asgardian, and Thor run over to you.  The icicle breaks, and you fall to the floor, the crimson stain spreading from the middle of your silk-chiffon, pale-pink dress.

"We have to get her to the medics," Loki speaks quickly.  Thor shakes his head as he checks your wrist.

"It would be of no use, Brother."  Mouth agape, Loki looks down at you, your eyes wide open.  He holds you close to him, sobbing against your neck, now growing cold.

"(Y/N), why? Why did you have to do that?" he whispers, tears streaming from his eyes and reflecting off your skin.  "I could've taken the blow.  You could've lived, darling, you could've stayed with me.  I could've still loved you.  You didn't have to redeem yourself, I would've forgiven you, you knew I would have.  It's all my fault."

A warm hand holds Loki's shoulder.  He looks up into Thor's eyes, filled with remorse.  "You did nothing wrong.  You fought for her honor.  I brought us all down here.  Blame should be put on me."  With that realization, Loki's heart hardened and he snatched his shoulder from the genuine comfort.

"Leave us alone.  You've done enough."  With a nod, Thor exits the trophy room as Loki continues to grieve for your death.  He closes your eyelid, not being able to bear looking into your lifeless (e/c) orbs.  Getting up, he holds you bridal style, the way he oh so wished to carry you, but will never have the opportunity to fulfill it in its intended form.  Taking a deep breathe, he walks you both out of the trophy room, frozen just like his heart.

A/N (July 4, 2018): I would just like to clarify that this was part was a request.  This includes but wasn't limited to: Thor's portrayal, the brothers fighting over (Y/N), and having a "surprise ending."  What users requests shapes how the imagine will go, and in order to accommodate for both the requester and the MCU accuracy, I have to use what I am given from both ends.

I hope that explanation satisfies those who find fault in this or any other imagines, whether it be mine or any other user.  We work with the material we have available to us and work it in.  From now on (date-wise), I'll do better to explain what is asked of me and what I worked in to limit potential offense of readers.
