Tom's POV

 She was so mysterious.

We became so close. Once a week, we would go out to eat as a cast, but another night we would all hang out and do random things. But (Y/N) and I? While waiting to record, we would talk, impersonate people, tell each other stories, recount memories. And even for the movie, we would work together in the studio for quite some time. Occasionally, we would go in early with the other actors and practice off of each other. But today, after two months of work, as we walked into the studio, we could tell something was different.

"Tom, (Y/N)," Mr. Iger called. We both looked up. "I need you over here." (Y/N) and I exchange looks, wondering if we did something wrong.

"Everything alright?" she asks.

"Alan Menken is dealing with a family emergency," he explains, "and he won't be able to finish all the music. So we're going to do a cover of a song." Our eyes widen, and we look at each other.

"Us two?" I ask for clarification.

"Well it's a love song," he answers. "And it would be nice to have your characters sing it as the credits roll."

We are led to a different recording studio, one for music instead of voice acting. Seems to have a lot more buttons. What exactly each one was for, I have no idea. (Y/N) and I are put in two separate rooms, much like when we were recording the script.

"You nervous?" I ask as we put on the headphones.

"Quite. What if I'm horrible? I've never sung in public before." She turns to Iger in the booth. "Speaking of which, what song is it?"

"Playing it now." Immediately, the music for Eric Benet's and Tamia's Spend My Life With You. My heart stops.

I get to sing this song with a beautiful person. Me, out of all people—I get to share this moment with her!

While I'm overjoyed on the inside, I maintain being cool on the outside as I follow along for the lyrics.

"We've already recorded the back-ups, so we just need to add your parts. Ready?" Without letting us answer, he plays the song. I have to brace myself, my legs shaking as I started to sing.

I never knew such a day could come.
And I never knew such a love could be inside of one.
And I never knew what my life was for.
But now that you're here, I know for sure.

I look up at (Y/N) as I finish the verse. She was just as nervous as me, playing with her ring like she does when she can't play with her necklace.

I never knew til I looked in your eyes.
I was incomplete til the day you walked into my life.
And I never knew that my heart could feel
So precious and pure, one love so real.

I had no idea why she was so nervous. While I'm here praying that my voice doesn't crack or give out, there she was, singing as if effortlessly, a sweet melodic voice flowing from her lips.

We went through the song, looking at each other here and there, but it was after the bridge to the final series of choruses where we finally looked up and locked eye contact, like we were both in this together.

Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes
Can I just feel your heart beating beside me every night
Can we just feel this way together til the end of all time
Can I just spend my life with you

Can you run to these open arms when no one else understands
Can we tell God and the whole world you're my woman, and you're my man
Can't you just feel how much I love you with one touch of my hand
Can I just spend my life with you
