A/N: Psst! There's a new Tom fanfic up ("Desiderata"), since "Without a Word" is finished. And, by request, I'm going to start another one as well. Updates for those, once the other one is up, will alternate as much as possible.
I will need another name (first and possibly last) for a guy best friend for "Desiderata". Any ideas?
Oh, and the next few updates for this book are going to be on the sad side because I have put a user in timeout. Be warned.

"Babe, they'll be here any minute!"
"Okay, be right down." Slipping on a tank top, you race down the stairs and to the front door, meeting your husband on the porch. You still weren't exactly used to this child-sharing agreement, only seeing your children half a month.
You used to think you had your happily ever after, that marrying Tom would be the antidote for a whole life of hard work. Having two kids, twins to be more precise, seemed to be even better. Double the joy, double the happiness. And Tom was taking a break from acting to help raise them.
"One big happy family," he had said, once upon a time ago. "That's how it'll be."
Despite this, you had your rude awakening a half year ago. Tom had started to work again, and before you knew it, rumors had spread that he had hooked up with his co-worker during production. Being the good wife and trusting Tom completely, you ignored the claims. It wasn't until pictures came out that you started to have your doubts. The icing on the rotten cake was when the co-worker decided to come clean with you and Tom had yet to even confront you about the situation.
So you left, took your two kids and went back to your parents. A divorce was issued, ending your six years of marriage, and since you found it ludicrous for the children not to see their father, you allowed him to have more than just the weekends of visitation. Even though it had been almost a year since the divorce, it was still weird for you to have a life, even remarrying your guy best friend, and be a mother.
You hold on tight to your husband's arm as Tom's car pulls up in the driveway. As he comes to a stop, the backseat doors fly open, and your two children run towards the two of you.
"Mommy!" they scream as they collide into you. You smile wider than you ever had before. There was no better feeling than receiving hugs and kisses from your two best creations.
"I missed you pumpkins so much," you admit as you stand back up. You hadn't noticed that Tom had gotten out the car and was now walking up the front steps.
"Beware the sugar rush," he warns. "We just had ice cream."
"So I see," you comment. Your son did have some dried chocolate around his lips. Your husband stands back up as your children put their things away. He and Tom exchange a friendly handshake.
"I take it the week went well."
"Very," Tom confirms.
"How did their spelling go?"
"(Daughter's name) got a 100, but (son's name) is still stuck on 'Mississippi," Tom reveals to you. "He keeps missing the middle chunk."
Your daughter comes back out and tugs the pants leg of your husband. All three of you look down.
"Daddy, can you play tea party with me?" You swore that you heard Tom's heart pound loudly against his chest, instantly breaking it.
"Um, sure. Give Daddy a second." With a smile, your daughter skips along back into the house. Tom puts his hands in his pockets while your husband turns back around.
"I didn't know that she would—"
"It's okay," Tom brushes off, but by his face, you can clearly tell he's upset. With a sad nod, your husband goes back in the house. You fold your arms as Tom runs his hands through his hair.
"Look, I didn't—"
"She doesn't think I'm her dad?"
"Tom—"
"She calls a bloody stranger, 'Daddy,' but her own father? Nothing!" You hold onto his arm, but he snatches it away. "(Y/N), don't you dare try to comfort me!"
"He is not a stranger! He's my husband—"
"Oh really? Will congratulations, you replaced me." You wanted to remain calm, but it was getting hard to with your temper escalating.
"Oh, so you're mad that I remarried? Tom, you replaced me the moment you stuck your tongue down that woman's throat!"
"At least I felt guilty about it! You don't even care!" You remained silent. "Why do you think I never came out and told you?! I was too ashamed of what I did! And if I came clean, it would be at your expense! Why should I feel better if it means hurting you?!"
"Tom, if that what you were worrying about, you shouldn't have done it in the first place!"
"Well, I can't change that, now can I?" He lets out a puff of hot air. "I have to go."
"Tom—"
"No, why should I even be here? Apparently, I'm not their 'Daddy' anyway." He storms off, speeding away before you can even catch up to him.
