Loki's POV

She should've been home by now.

This is what I got for trying to surprise my best friend. Then again, were we best friends? Something more? I don't know. We never talked about it after the day. I wish we had.

Maybe I wouldn't be feeling this deep pain in the pit of my stomach and in my hollow chest. Maybe instead of meeting her at home, I could be surprising her at her job. Maybe instead of ordering dinner for her here, I could have made a picnic basket and had dinner with her at the office. Maybe I wouldn't have to wonder if her lips tasted any different with her variety of glosses but I would have tried each one on her at least twice.

Maybe I would have known if she loved me too.

Irregardless, the pizza—or whatever this discus-like food was—was in the oven, keeping warm, and the TV was set to watch The Fault in Our Stars. I planned on playing it right up to Augustus fake funeral, then tell (Y/N) how I felt, more than just not wanting her to go on a small date with Fandral, but not wanting to date anyone else. I wanted to be hers exclusively just like she was in my eyes.

My head shoots up as the door starts to unlock. Before I could smile, I'm greeted by the saddest look I've ever seen on her face. She doesn't even look startled or surprised to see me. Actually, her look didn't change at all, for better or worse.

"How long have you been here?"

"Ten minutes," I lied. I had been there for three hours waiting. "Work didn't go well, did it?"

She shakes her head, but I can see the tears falling from her face. Instinctively, I take her close in my hold, letting her head rest into my chest. Pizza would have to wait; a cuddle session was in order.

After kissing her forehead, I whisper into her ear, "Jump, I'll carry you." Not even questioning it, she obeys, wrapping her legs around me as I hold onto her thighs. I walk us over to the couch and sit us down. (Y/N) doesn't even move off of me as I reach for the remote and go onto Netflix.

"Loki?" she says as I press onto her favorite Disney movie.

"Shh. Now turn around." She does, sitting sideways but still not getting up from my lap, nor moving her arms from around my neck.

Halfway during the movie, she leans her head on my shoulder. Instantly I stiffen as my hand, without thinking, goes to pet her hair. And no matter how badly I wanted to stop, feeling embarrassed, there it was, wanting to curl into her hair and take her headache away.

And what didn't help was that she liked it. Closing her eyes, I could hear her softly sigh as she leaned into my touch, nuzzling her head in my hand. I silently chuckle. Maybe the cat vial rubbed some side effects onto her.

"Loki?" she asked again, softer than the first. I turn and freeze. Her lips were so close, it was tempting not to take them right then and there.

"Yes?"

"Why are you really here? I mean, you couldn't have known I was getting fired, could you?" My eyes fell as I turned more to her, breaking her arms from around my neck.

"You were fired?"

"Well, when you miss nine days of work, it's hard to believe the serum stories." The guilt rises.

"I am so sorry, (Y/N). I didn't mean—"

"It's okay, Loki."

"No, it's not. I made you lose your job. How can you sit here and—" I was cut off by her kissing my nose, then putting her forehead onto mine. My heart started to race as her hot breath reddened my skin.

"I lost my job, not everything."

Not standing it anymore, my lips found their way onto hers. And the gloss didn't make them taste any differently; they were just as sweet as I remembered and craved for. And for that moment, the pain in my chest subsided and my hollow chest started to feel whole. And dinner didn't matter because her kiss was all I needed for the night, all I needed to feel and have in my back pocket.

And in that moment, I knew that deep down, our feelings were one in the same, for the harder I kissed her, the more she kissed me back, the more she was silently telling me, "It's okay. I want this too."

*****

(A/N): Alright then!

Surprise #1: This imagine. (Well, I guess it's not a surprise anymore.) Many people seemed to like the first "Reverse the Curse," so for this request, since the person specifically said that the reader would be like a "human cat," I decided to go with it.

Surprise #2: This book has over 75K views, so having it closer and closer to 100K views is super exciting! Mega thanks to everyone!

Surprise #3: Since I have a lot of requests before this book closes, I have decided to try to do two TWH/L imagines a week. This means more updates and the people who requested don't have to wait that long.

Surprise #4: A wattpad user requested to translate my "Insecure" book into German, so I'm incredibly honored and thrilled. This means more people can find relief and don't have to feel alone. Thanks @Leevy25 !

Surprise #5: I will possibly make either an IG or Twitter account for this Wattpad account. Since my wattpad app on my phone glitches often, it'll be easier to contact me from an outlet many of you said to have. Which one do you guys think?

Surprise #6: I am getting together the last imagine.  (Yes, this book is still closing, and yes, I am making a book two. So don't yell at me again. (You know who you are. :P)) And, for this one, I plan to use the names of special friends I have met on here who've helped me in more ways than one. I'll make a more lengthy "thank you" when I get there.

Onward, then!
