"I don't know about this, Tom."

"Come on, he's fine," he reassures you as you walk into the Chuck E Cheese. Your son, whom you and Tom adopted after a trip to Ghana, was already pulling Luke along to buy tokens. It was the first time in six months that Tom was back, and what better way to celebrate his return than a family outing. And since you were still waiting on your child's new passport to come in, instead of Disney, you all decided on the next thing he's been asking for: Chuck E Cheese.

"Tom, he can get sick," you whisper as you follow the bodyguard to the counter. Your husband hands Luke a hundred dollar bill to exchange for the gold coins. "Do you know how often they clean these places?"

"Every night?"

"Not the big things!"

"(Y/N), (Y/C/N) will be fine. The main thing is that we're all here and happy, okay?" He kisses your temple, and you sigh.

"Okay...But if he gets sick, you're taking care of him!" With a chuckle, he takes your hand into his.

"Done. Now let's get some food. Maybe that will keep your stress levels at bay."

Two slices of pizza, a bottle of water, and a whole conversation later, you were still nervous. All while Tom was talking, you kept looking over at your child, who was going from machine to machine with a trail of tickets behind him. Noticing this, Tom even switched places with you so at least you can at least pretend like you were listening. But he knew better than to mess with your mother's intuition. With a sigh, he caved.

"(Y/N), do you want to leave?" For the first time in twenty minutes, you really focus on him.

"No, no Tom."

"Well you've done a bloody job on tuning me out."

"No I haven't, you were talking about the set and the things and the...erm..." Although annoyed, he smiles. "Sorry, hun."

"No, you're just being Mama Bear. I shouldn't be so mad." He holds your hands, kisses the tops of them, then squeezes them tighter in his hands. It's then when Luke comes over with (Y/C/N). Both of you turn to your heads, and your smiles widen when you see your son's.

"Mummy, Daddy, look how many tickets Uncle Luke and I won!" Sure enough, that trail of tickets looked more like a jungle growing from his pockets. You both laugh as he embraces you.

"I see. You won so many, my little love!" Breaking from you, he and Luke start eating, and he goes off to tell about each game he played and his child adventures in winning the tickets. But after a thirty minute explanation, he goes over to Tom and holds onto his waist.

"Daddy, can I play in the ball-pit?" Tom looks over to you.

"Darling, is it okay?" When your son gives you a happy and hopeful look, you can't resist. Besides, it was his first day with his father back.

"Alright."

"Yay!" He takes Tom's hand and drags him to the pit, you and Luke close behind.

The pit was huge, easily the size of a theater's stage. You take deep breaths as your son leaves his shoes with you.

"Please, be careful," you tell him.

"I will, Mummy." And with that, he takes off. Before you start to hyperventilate, Tom slips his hand into yours.

"You're doing wonderful, (Y/N)."

"Better than I thought you would," Luke voices. Tom shoots him a look, making you laugh.

"At least you still protect me."

"And exactly when have I stopped?" You rest your head onto Tom's arm.

"I really did miss you, Tom," you whisper to him.

"And I, you," he says as he kisses the top of your head. "You told me every day."

"As did you." He squeezes your hand tighter. Suddenly you see a flash go off. You both dart your eyes in its direction, only to be greeted by a laughing Luke.

"Cute as ever, you two!"

But before you could get mad, you all saw heard a child shriek. More importantly, you all heard your child shriek. All your hearts stopped.

"Thomas!" Without hesitation, all three of you dove into the emptying ball pit.

"(Y/C/N)?!" you all called out. None of you cared that you went in with your shoes on or that other parents, who recognized Tom, were snapping pictures, or that other children were asking, "Mommy, isn't that Loki from Thor? Is he going to take over the Chuck E Cheese?" You, Tom, and Luke were in Mama and Papa Bear mode, and until you got your cub, nothing was going to deter you.

"(Y/N)," Luke says after four minutes of searching. You and Tom both look up, and Luke points off into another direction. Only a few feet away, your child was on the bike ride, pedaling his way up to the sky. His joyful shrieks filled the air. Instantly your heart rates slowed.

"Oh thank goodness!" You pull yourselves out as your son was lowering to the ground. As he gets off, he meets three concerned faces.

"(Y/C/N), you must always tell us where you're going!" Tom scolds. "You had us all worried, especially your mother!"

"I'm sorry, Mummy and Daddy." You sigh as your boy gives you a hug.

"I'm just glad your safe."

Three toys, a bag of cotton candy, and two days later, Tom was making soup and tea in the kitchen. You chuckle to yourself as he passes you and heads up the stairs to your sick child, he trying to balance all the liquids, including cough medicine, on a tray.

"Don't say it."

"Told ya so," you say anyway, continuing to flip through your book.
