You scream as another clap of thunder sounds.  You've never been a fan of thunderstorms, especially after a recent storm caused a near fatal rockslide.  Had you been a moment later, you would either be buried at sea twice, once for the rockslide pushing your car off the cliff, and a second time for your funeral.

Your puppy paws at the door, and you can hear him whimpering.  You get from underneath your blankets and open the bedroom door.  He runs up to you, and you scoop him up.

"Aw, Caius."  As an anniversary present, Tom let you adopt a pet from the shelter.  Ever since the english bulldog was adopted, he's been quite attached to you, so much so that Tom swore that Caius was a dog version of you.  Right now was only proving his point; as another roll of thunder sounds, for Caius was curling into a ball in your arms, trying to nuzzle his head deep into your chest.  He was trembling as if he was freezing.

"I know," you attempted to comfort as you walked back to the bed.  "It's hard for me too."  You two didn't let Caius sleep in the bed with you two, but tonight you'd make an exception.

You jumped up when your cell phone rang, expecting a flash of lightning.  But it's only the brightness of your phone that illuminates the room.  You answer, a tremble in your voice.

        "Hello?"

"Hello love."  Your heartbeat slows a bit, calming to Tom's voice.

"How did you know?" you whisper back.

"I had a bad feeling."  You smile.  He was away filming in London.  You had missed him terribly, but even more so that you were alone in the middle of a storm.

"Sure, a 'bad feeling.'"  You hear his chuckle, and it further calms you.

"My phone is still synced to home, so when it said thunderstorms, I got really worried.  It's raining here too, and if I'm feeling rather gloomy, then surely you must be miserable."

"I am, Tom, I really am.  It was so loud this time that it woke me up, and I can't go back to sleep.  Caius is not doing so well either."

        "I figured."

"Wait a minute, why are you up so early?  It's 4:27  your time."

"My darling needs me."  You smile.

        "You're crazy."

"Is it madness?"  You both laugh.  "And don't worry.  It's going to be raining all day, and we can't film, so the editing team is getting a head start.  I have the day off."

        "I'm glad."

Another clap of thunder, and you scream.  Caius cuddles closer to you in the dark.  You can hear Tom try to coax you over the phone, but your heart is beating overtime.

"(Y/N), darling listen to me.  Don't focus on outside; focus on my voice.  Focus on me."  He keeps repeating himself until he senses you are calm.

"Tom, I miss you.  I'm so frightened."

He calmly sushes you.  "You're not alone, (Y/N).  I'm right here.  I'll take care of you.  Now into bed."

        You do just so.

        "Are you comfortable?"

        "Yes."

"Hold the phone close."  You do, and he recites Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal, sending you off into dreamland.  When you awaken the next day, the call is still in place.  You could hear him softly snoring.  Tom never hung up the phone, just in case you needed him.
