The Tale Of Time {Doctor Who X Reader}

The Empty Child: Part 1

{Y/N} stands at the console, the Doctor across from her as they try to follow a ship of sorts. 

"What's the emergency?" Rose asks, gripping onto the console as the TARDIS shakes.

"It's mauve." {Y/N} says while watching the monitor.

"Mauve?"

"The universally recognized color for danger." The Doctor explains, flicking a lever.

"What happened to red?" Rose asks as she stands beside {Y/N}, looking at the monitor with her.

"That's just humans. By everyone else's standards, red's camp. Oh, the misunderstandings. All those red alerts, all that dancing." The Doctor laughs.

"That ship has a basic flight computer. So, I hacked into it." {Y/N} smiles, proud of herself. "Oh, the prices people pay when they don't update their software." She mumbles. "The TARDIS is locked into it, wherever it goes, we go." The Doctor smiles towards the two.

"I love you when you hack." The Doctor smiles. {Y/N} and Rose look at him with raised brows, {Y/N}'s face heating up slightly. "She's better at it. Plus, look how excited she gets." He clarifies. {Y/N} smiles down at the console before looking back at the monitor.

"And that's safe, is it?" Rose asks.

"Yeah." The Doctor states. The TARDIS' controls spark at {Y/N} causing her to back away. The Doctor looking at the two in concern as the console continues to spark. "Alright, maybe reasonably. It's reasonably safe." 

{Y/N} looks at the monitor, noticing the ship moving further away. "No, no, no, no!"

"What? What's wrong?" The Doctor asks, moving towards her.

"It jumped. It's jumping time tracks, it's getting away." {Y/N} explains. He looks over the monitor before running around the console, trying to catch up with it.

"What exactly is this thing?" Rose asks confused.

"No idea!" The Doctor says, smiling widely.

"Then why are we chasing it?"

"It's mauve. Could be dangerous. And pretty soon it's going to be in the center of London." {Y/N} smiles.

The TARDIS lands in a dark alleyway. "Do you know how long you can knock around space without happening to bump into Earth?" The Doctor asks as the three step outside the TARDIS.

"Five days? Or is that just when we're out of milk?" Rose asks cockily.

"Of all the species in all the Universe and it has to come out of a cow." The Doctor says confused.

"Well, it must be somewhere close. Within a mile at least. It won't have landed any more than a week or month ago." {Y/N} says as the three walk up the alley.

"A month? We were right behind it." Rose says confused.

"It was jumping time tracks all over the place. We're bound to be a little bit out. Do you want to drive?" The Doctor says as they went around the corner.

"Yeah. How much is a little?"

"A bit."

"That doesn't really help." {Y/N} says as she looks around, trying to get an idea of the year.

"Is that exactly a bit?"

"Ish." The Doctor says unsure.

"What's the plan, then? Are you two going to do a scan for alien tech or something?" Rose asks.
