The Parting Of Ways: Part 2

"All the TARDIS needs to do is make a return trip. Just reverse." Rose explains to {Y/N} inside the TARDIS after telling her about all the 'Bad Wolf' signs.

"Yeah, but we still can't do it." Mickey says.

"The Doctor always said the TARDIS was telepathic. This thing is alive. It can listen."

"I don't think she is listening now, she's gone into shut down mode. Stopped talking to me a while ago." {Y/N} says sadly, stoking over the console.

"We need to get inside it. Last time I saw you." Rose says pointing towards Mickey. "With the Slitheen, this middle bit opened, and there was this light, {Y/N} and the Doctor said it was the heart of the TARDIS. If we can open it, we can make contact. We can tell it what to do." Rose says,{Y/N} looks at her wide-eyed before looking back at the TARDIS.

"Rose." Mickey says sadly.

"Mmm?" She hums. 

"If you go back, you're going to die."

"That's a risk I've got to take because there's nothing left for me here." Rose says quietly.

"Nothing?"

"No."

"Okay, if that's what you think, let's get this thing open." Mickey says. {Y/N} looks down at where the console was glowing, where she had opened up before.

"You were giving me a way weren't you..." {Y/N} mutters softly.

Mickey had fastened a heavy chain to the tow hitch on his Mini. The other end fastened to the TARDIS console. He drives forward slowly, trying to pull open the console.

"Faster!" Rose shouts.

"Come on!" Mickey shouts. {Y/N} watches, biting her nail in anticipation.

"It's not moving!" The chain finally breaks, Rose kicking the console in frustration.

"It was never going to work, sweetheart. And the Doctor, he just wanted you to be safe." Jackie says.

"I can't give up." Rose says sadly.

"Lock the door. Walk away." Jackie says as {Y/N} rushes around the console trying to lift up the hatch.

"Dad wouldn't give up." Rose says.

"Well, he's not here, is he? And even if he was, he'd say the same." Jackie says.

"No, he wouldn't. He'd tell me to try anything. If I could save the Doctor's life, I'll try anything."

"Well, we're never going to know." Jackie states. 

"Well, I know because I met him. I met Dad." Rose confesses. 

"Don't be ridiculous."

"The Doctor and {Y/N} took me back in time, and I met Dad." {Y/N} stops for a moment and listens to what Rose says. That day, when they met her father was listed in her top five most stressful days. The fear she felt when the Doctor vanished before her eyes has been haunting her and now there was a high chance she was losing him forever. 

"Don't say that."

"Remember when Dad died? There was someone with him. A girl, a blonde girl. She held his hand. You saw her from a distance, Mum. You saw her! Think about it. That was me. You saw me." Rose was close to tears.
