I set Hazel on her high chair with my eyebrows furrowed out of worry, watching as she sits there very quietly. Too quietly.
She doesn't seem to be in her best mood, her attention on her tiny hands as she raises them before looking over at me with a frown. I look at her questioningly as she does not make a sound, I have a feeling that her quietness is not a good sign.
I glance at the clock on the wall and sigh at the fact that it's six in the morning, it's a little bit early but I realised that Hazel had woken up and didn't even attempt to call me.
After that whole thing yesterday, Harry had confirmed the rumours of the break up between him and Charlotte. It left the interviewer a little bit shocked but didn't make a huge deal out of it.
Harry and I parted ways after that and I had spent a long time thinking about how friendly Harry has been with me lately, which isn't that surprising at this point.
However, even if I fell asleep at a horrid late hour, I had to wake up early because the amount of sleep I was getting was quite suspicious. Now my main worry is Hazel, who doesn't seem to be having the greatest moments of her life.
She does not look okay and I'm kind of freaking out over it. I set my hand on her forehead and my heartbeat fastens at the warmth of her skin before leaning down closer to her. "Darling, you don't seem okay."
She slowly blinks, sniffing a little bit while patting my cheek and I kiss her nose gently before grabbing my phone. After making a few calls to book an appointment with Hazel's pediatrician, I decided to call Harry to let him know that I am not going today.
"Hello?" He mumbles after picking up the call and I sit on a chair in front of Hazel's while looking at her, running a hand through her curls.
"Hi Harry, I know it's quite early but I don't think I will be able to go to work today," I inform him, smiling faintly when Hazel attempts to kiss my hand before hearing some movements from Harry.
"Why is that? If you don't mind me asking." He asks, his voice sounding a bit deeper than the usual and so I assume that he had woken up not long ago.
"I don't think Hazel is feeling well, I'm taking her to the doctor," I tell him with a sigh and I don't hear anything from him for a few seconds.
"I'm coming over." He hangs up before I could protest and I groan out of frustration before Hazel grabs my hand and brings it to her head with a faint smile.
Louis appears in the kitchen with a yawn, hair messy and narrowed eyes as he walks into the kitchen while slowly rubbing his eyes. "What's up?"
"I think Hazel is sick," I say, watching as he widens his eyes before rushing closer to her, looking attentively at her as she stares back quietly before letting out a cough.
I flinch at the sound before pushing Louis away and cupping both of her cheeks with furrowed eyebrows and she frowns at me, attempting to pull my hands away.
"I'll call her nanny, okay? I'll be right back." Louis says, patting my hair before leaving the kitchen as I worriedly look at Hazel.
It's not the first time she gets sick but it feels like every time she does it's like a stab in my heart. As dramatic as that may sound.
As I was cutting some fruits for Hazel, I hear a knock on the door and I clean my hands before taking Hazel in my arms and walking towards the front door, Louis' voice could be heard in the distance.
I open the door, Harry standing there wearing a white shirt and denim jeans while looking at me with furrowed eyebrows as Hazel extends her hand for him.
"Oh, dear." He pouts faintly, taking her in his arms as she rests her head on his shoulder before sneezing and I widen my eyes before pushing Harry inside the house and into the kitchen after closing the front door.
I grab a napkin and clean her nose as gently as I can and she whines while pushing my hand away. Harry rubs her back with his free hand, looking over at me with a frown. "I'll put her seat in my car and we'll drive to the doctor."
"Harry–"
"No," He raises his eyebrows, kissing Hazel's head before glancing at me, "I'll ask Liam to take care of everything at the firm, don't worry."
I hesitantly nod before Louis walks into the kitchen with a faint smile and sets a hand on my shoulder. "I have to go to work, be glad that he's here," He says with a nod, grinning at Harry and I smile at his words.
"Go get ready before you're late, asshole." I push his shoulder and he flips me off before walking away while laughing to himself and I turn back to Harry.
He gently moves Hazel to me and I gladly take her in my arms before making my way to my room after giving Harry the keys to my car. After I dress Hazel up, I get ready myself and walk downstairs just in time to see Louis getting ready to leave.
"Have a nice day, Lou!" I pat his shoulder and he looks at me with a small smirk over his lips while shaking his head.
"Good luck with everything, and your lover as well." He laughs as I roll my eyes, slapping his arm as Hazel rests her head on my shoulder with a yawn.
"What are you? An intrusive teenager or something? Leave me alone." I shake my head disapprovingly while he opens the door for us to step out, closing the door as we stand outside before setting my keys on my free hand.
"I will be attached to you until the day I die, so no, I won't leave you alone." He nods his head as if to prove his point and I snicker while we walk away from the house, Harry by his car as he adjusts Hazel's seat.
"As creepy as that sounds it also sounds a little bit sweet, you like me." I fake endearment and he rolls his eyes before kissing Hazel's cheek and walking away from me, into his car.
I laugh as he drives away before making my way towards Harry, who turns to look at me as soon as I step closer to him. "I took the chance to put her trolley in my trunk, it might be needed as well."
"Thank you, Harry." I smile, settling a sleeping Hazel on her seat and buckling her up before straightening my back while turning around, only to have Harry standing right in front of me.
I smile awkwardly before he brings his lips to mine, his hand cupping my cheek while doing so. It's a quick kiss, but as he pulls away he smiles back at me as awkwardly as I did and I laugh at his actions.
I pat his shoulder before getting inside the back of the car, next to Hazel, while Harry sits on the driver's seat with a dramatic exhale as he starts the car.
"Would some jokes cure Hazel?"
Oh no.
Finally an update! I hope you're enjoying!♡
