I burst the door of Harry's office open, his head immediately looking up and his eyebrows furrowed as I close it behind me and stride closer to him. "Can you give Megan the day off? She's not feeling well."
"I'm guessing the conversation with Niall didn't go as expected." He assumes by the worry on my face while he grabs the phone on his desk and pressing a button to call Megan.
"No... he acted like an ass," I mutter and he hums, keeping the phone on his ear while writing something down on a paper in front of him and a frown on his face.
I take the chance to sit down on the surface of his desk, looking down at him when he turns his attention to me and smirks while setting down his pen.
"Megan," He clears his throat, looking down once again, "Evelyn has informed me that you aren't feeling that well, so I recommend that you go home."
He furrows his eyebrows as she talks to him, setting his free hand over his mouth while staring blankly at the screen of his computer. "I do understand that, I hope you feel better soon."
He hangs up, setting the phone in its place before standing up and getting closer to me while running a hand through his hair. "So, good news and bad news."
"I hate that statement, usually the bad ones have a bigger impact than the good news," I mutter, setting my hands on his shoulders as he steps between my legs with an unsure look in his eyes.
"Well... the good news is that Megan asked me to tell you to not worry about her because she needs some time alone." He says and I smile contently at him, it's good to know that she will spend some time with herself.
It's not that I want her to be alone, but in this kind of situation, it's always important to be there for yourself and not rely on every other person. Of course I want to make her feel better, but sometimes being alone almost feels therapeutic, and I completely understand if that's what she wants to do.
"And the bad one?" I ask with narrowed eyes, furrowing my eyebrows as he scratches the back of his neck nervously while looking at me.
"Charlotte and my management are coming here in a few."
"Oh no." I groan while crossing my arms over my chest, causing him to frown before taking my hands and setting them on his shoulders again.
"I'm sorry, they need to discuss a few topics with me about the end of the contract." He brings his lips to my collarbones before pressing a kiss to my lips while setting his hands on my thighs.
"You don't have to apologise, it has to be done either way." I shrug, fixing his hair before letting one of my hands slide down and grab his tie to pull him into another kiss.
He chuckles, taking both of my hands in his before sending me a smile and stepping away from me with a smirk. "I don't really think that going into a meeting with a boner would be professional."
I widen my eyes before stumbling onto my feet and taking a few steps away as well, my cheeks burning as I let out a nervous laugh. "Right."
I nearly sprint out of his office with an awkward smile as a way to say goodbye to him, looking around and jumping when I see Zayn right next to me, a smirk on his lips.
"Did you, hypothetically, hear anything?" I ask, raising an eyebrow while he shakes his head and sighs, setting a hand on his hip.
"No, I just got here but you look weird, it's funny." He visibly tries not to laugh at my face while I roll my eyes with crossed arms as we start walking towards my office, "also, what the fuck is wrong with that Neil boy? He was by that girl's desk and he looked pissed."
"Was anyone there?" I immediately ask, worried that maybe he wouldn't let her leave. She deserves to rest right now, I swear to God that if Niall tried to stop her from doing so I will have to kick his ass.
"A different girl was, the usual one wasn't there." He informs me, the lack of names making me want to laugh but I simply nod while letting out a breath of relief.
"That's good, he's an asshole, also his name is Niall." I correct him, laughing when he stops walking to stare at me with an emotionless look in his eyes as if daring me to repeat what I just said.
I hear some chatter from somewhere in the hallway where we're standing, widening my eyes when I see Charlotte and a few men by her side and immediately grabbing Zayn's wrist, stepping into my office so they don't see us.
I feel myself starting to get anxious, biting my nails while staring at the door and Zayn sets a hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, of course, just nervous." I laugh out of nervousness, I shouldn't be nervous because technically they're only going to finish up some things, but I can't help but think that maybe they still don't want me to be with Harry.
I sit down on my chair, turning my computer on while Zayn looks around the room as if it were his first time here before nearly jumping as a knock is heard. "Come in!"
The door is opened and for a few moments I sort of hope it's Harry on the other side, instead, Liam peaks his head inside before taking a step into the room, closing the door behind him.
Zayn sits on my desk with crossed arms and furrowed eyebrows as Liam clears his throat. "I... wanted to apologise for ruining your relationship with Harry, I shouldn't have done it and I regret it immensely."
My lips part out of surprise at his words, looking down at my hands with a frown before turning my attention back to him with narrowed eyes. "I guess it's... okay."
I don't know what else I'm supposed to say. It wasn't okay at all, it brought me sadness and loneliness while they were getting what they wanted out of this whole thing. It's not okay because an apology is not enough to make it up for it, but I can't bring myself to start an argument.
He nods slowly before getting out of my office and Zayn immediately turns to look at me with raised eyebrows. "Long story." I sigh, running a hand through my hair before he stands up.
"I'd listen to it, but I'm ditching a meeting and I feel like I should make an appearance now." He grins, causing me to laugh while nodding and watching him as he steps out of the room and audibly begins running, leaving the door open.
At first, I thought he was running because he wants to get to his meeting as fast as possible, but as Harry stands there with crossed arms and an arched eyebrow I quickly realise why Zayn ran.
I walk closer to Harry and he wraps his arms around my waist with a smile before pressing his lips to mine briefly. "Good luck with your meeting." I smile while he points to somewhere in the hallway with a laugh, I turn my head to look at where he's pointing only to find Zayn standing there with his hands on his hips and raised eyebrows.
"Good luck with Zayn."
I hope you're enjoying!♡
