I stare blankly at the cup of coffee in my hands, my eyebrows furrowed while the sound of people chatting can be heard right next to me.
I am standing in the middle of a studio, accompanying Harry as he takes care of Zayn's photoshoot. Zayn is currently taking pictures while Harry stands not too far away with crossed arms and looking attentively at what is happening in front of him.
I am simply standing by a table full of coffee cups and light snacks. It's not like I wanted to be here, but I really didn't have a choice. I can't stay in my room forever, yes things aren't that great at the moment but I can't hide away from my problems so I have decided to show Harry that I don't need him to do anything for me, which I actually don't.
I bring the cup of coffee to my lips and take a sip, turning around to look at Zayn as his photographer takes some pictures of him. It amazes me how he doesn't have to do any specific pose to look good, he simply does what he feels like doing and even if it's something so simple he manages to look incredible.
Zayn glances at me and smiles, waving shortly before returning his attention to the camera in front of him. "Okay everyone, I think we should take a small break, Mr.Styles I need you to choose the pictures you like the most, Zayn do you want to join us?" The photographer, Jacob, announces and Zayn shakes his head with a small smile.
"No, there's no need, he can choose." Zayn replies to his question before grabbing his jacket and putting it on, striding over towards me.
"Hi, you did great on that photoshoot." I say in the most polite way possible, making him smile at me with amusement clear in his features.
"Thanks, I just want to make sure everything is alright because you glared at your coffee for quite a long time." He states, gesturing to the cup of coffee I am holding and I awkwardly laugh.
"Yeah, not one of my best days." I state truthfully with a forced smile before taking another sip of my warm coffee while he seems to study me and my actions.
"Well, would you like to have lunch with me? Maybe that'll lift your spirits." He suggests and I almost widen my eyes, but I decide not to since it would be quite embarrassing so instead, I simply nod with a smile.
"Yeah sure, let me just grab my things and we can go."
I walk away from him and towards where I left my purse and my jacket, putting my jacket on and throwing my purse over my shoulder before striding towards him once again.
"Is there a specific place you'd like to go to?" He asks as we walk out of the small building and I shrug lightly with a small smile.
"Not really, you've been here longer than me so you probably should choose." I tell him truthfully and look at him as he nods slowly, a pensive look taking over his features.
"Well, I might have something in mind." He leads me to his car, opening the door for me and I quietly thank him before getting in. He sits on the driver's seat and drives away with a minor smile, music playing faintly throughout the car and the windows open in the slightest.
I'm sure I won't regret this.
(...)
I get out of Zayn's car with a wide grin, laughing at his appearance as we once again come back to the building where the photoshoot is.
We had lunch and it was really nice to speak to him, I told him about Hazel since there is no reason to hide her either way and he got quite sad because he understands that I might miss her and that she might miss me.
Unfortunately, he was quite clumsy and he spilt wine over his white shirt to which is why I am still laughing a little bit. We walk inside and part ways, him looking for his photographer while I go look for anyone who I might know.
I don't really want to go back to the hotel by myself and Zayn has to stay here to see the pictures, Harry is probably already at the hotel so I might just try to find someone.
If I don't then I guess I'll have to walk.
I walk through the hallway with slow but steady steps, my arms close to me as I glance from side to side and analyze the corridor. The walls are creamy coloured, square windows coming to my sight every once in a while but when they don't, all I can see is brown doors.
I can hear the chatter echoing through the walls of the hall, some laughter being heard as well. It is soothing in a bizarre way.
Why bizarre you might ask, well it is quite odd to walk through a completely empty hallway and still hear the chit chat amongst the people behind the closed doors.
I am too concentrated on my steps to notice anyone walking, that is until I bump into someone. I look up to who I bumped into and widen my eyes at the person in front of me.
"Evelyn, I believed you were out." Harry says, looking down at me with an unbothered look in his eyes and I cross my arms with my eyebrows pulled low.
"I was, I'm just trying to get a ride to the hotel."
"Why don't you go with Zayn?" He suggests, glancing at the few doors behind me before turning to look down at me once again with raised eyebrows.
Is he dumb or something?
"He has work to do right now." I state, immediately feeling like running away from this man and this building.
"Oh, what a shame," He crosses his arms with a straight face, "well, maybe next time he can drive you home after your date."
"Excuse me?" I feel my blood starting to boil at his statement, my knuckles becoming white from clenching my fist too hard.
"Didn't you two go out for a date?" He spits the last word as if it's venomous and I scowl at his behaviour.
"I believe that what I do out of work is none of your business." I enlighten him firmly, gritting my teeth as rage overtook me and looking at him with a grimace.
"It is, since my daughter i-"
"Your daughter?" I laugh dryly, glaring harshly at him as I feel my fury grow more every time he opens his mouth, "I'm sorry, but I don't recall you being there when I was pregnant nor when she was born, hence the fact that you still aren't there for her, so don't you try to victimise yourself."
He grows quiet but the glare never seems to leave his features while I look at him with the same bitterness as his in my eyes. "I wasn't there because you never told me."
"As if I told you, you would come running to me, Harry. You were too busy taking care of your career and your little perfect girlfriend." I fume between gritted teeth, the irritation in his eyes only making me feel more frustrated.
"You know what was happening, Evelyn!" He suddenly exclaims, my eyes widening at his harsh manner before frowning.
"I know now, but I didn't when I needed the most. The only person who has helped me throughout this whole situation was Louis, he did more than you ever could." I tell him truthfully, the want to go back to the hotel as fast as possible increasing as each second passes by.
He shakes his head with furrowed eyebrows, running a hand through his curls before looking up in visible desperation. "You should've told me."
"No, I shouldn't have to tell you. If everything that happened was fake or a stunt, then you should have had the decency to call once in a while or make sure everything was okay, but did you?" I am honestly so tired of this conversation, convincing Harry that he is wrong is a hard task and I shouldn't really waste my energy on it.
"I thought you were mad at me!"
"And I was, Harry! But ignoring my existence doesn't make it any better!" I groan in frustration, shaking my head in disapproval before turning around and leaving the building.
I decide to walk back to the hotel by myself, it doesn't matter anyway.
