Time went by too fast and we are now sitting in the chairs of the luxurious private jet. Never in my life would I think to fly in one of these, but life takes its turns I assume.
There is a big black leather couch against the walls of the jet, a black centre table in front of it and a little bit to the right there are four comfortable looking chairs, which is where I am sitting, a glass table in between them.
Harry and Charlotte are sitting on the couch, he had his phone pressed to his ear while a laptop rested on his lap and Charlotte was oddly silent.
As for me, I have been looking out the window with a cup of coffee in front of me that was still untouched. I asked for it but suddenly my craving for caffeine faded away into nothingness while the only thing that keeps swirling in my mind is Hazel.
My gaze falls on Harry, watching as he loosens the tie around his neck and closes his eyes in frustration. I wasn't really paying attention to the conversation he was having but it might be a stressful one since he has asked me for coffee about three times and has given me a pile of papers to organise.
He opens his eyes once again as if sensing my gaze on him, his eyes focused on mine while shutting his laptop and putting it aside with a smirk forming on his lips. I shake my head to myself before looking away once again, it was something I always used to do whenever I was upset to let Harry know about it and I didn't miss the way his smirk faded and he let a frown take over his features.
"I don't have time for this talk right now, once we land I will contact you." I hear him saying and suddenly silence fills the air in an agonising way.
I fidget with the ring in my finger, pressing my lips as the memory from this morning seems to haunt me. Nothing horrifying or traumatizing happened, but of course, the thought of leaving my daughter and my best friend for a long time isn't the best experience to endure.
"What's wrong?" He asks suddenly, causing me to jump on my seat at his sharp tone and turn my head right in time to watch him sitting on the chair next to mine.
I glance at Charlotte worriedly, letting out a sigh of relief at the sight of her sleeping state. I look up at Harry as he intertwines his fingers over his lap while staring at me with his eyebrows pulled low.
"I'm fine." I mutter, grabbing my already cold cup of coffee and taking a sip of it, grimacing at the bitter taste on my tongue.
"You don't look fine." He points out, glancing at my cup of coffee for a split second before returning his gaze to me.
"Then stop looking."
He remains quiet, his eyes not leaving mine before he leans closer to me with an emotionless look in his eyes and resting his forearms on his thighs.
"You're acting quite rudely Evelyn, any justification for it?" He asks with a serious look, and I simply turn my head to look away from him.
"I just need to be alone I guess." I mumble, side glancing at him as he keeps his stare on me the whole time.
"Being alone won't make you feel better Evelyn, if so it will make you feel worse." He informs me, showing me a bit of emotion by frowning faintly.
"Well, you're not helping, are you? It'd be better if you just," I gesture for him to go sit down on the couch before proceeding with my speech, "and maybe I'll feel better later."
I hear him chuckling lowly, leaning back on his chair with a small smirk on his lips while I furrow my eyebrows at his amusement.
"You're adorable."
"One of these days I'm going to murder you." I state with an angry tone, narrowing my eyes at him as his smirk widens.
"Well, that's not at all comforting." He says while I cross my arms over my chest, raising my eyebrows as he leans forward and leaves a light kiss on the corner of my lips.
"Stop it."
He shakes his head, leaving another kiss in the same place and I roll my eyes, feeling as if he was mocking me. "Can you tell me why you seem so bothered?"
"Just missing home, it's all." I murmur, sighing right after and he looks at me with a slight frown.
"And Hazel?" He asks curiously and I cough awkwardly with slightly widened eyes while nodding.
"Yeah, because she's my niece and I will miss her a lot, I've spent a lot of time with her so I grew very close to her." I look down at my hands and sniff involuntarily while trying to hold back my tears.
I know I might sound dramatic, but it's much more than that. It's my daughter for the love of God, and being away from her to go to work is already devastating for me so you can imagine how it might feel to go to another country without her.
He cups my cheek with one of his hands and turns my head so I could look at him. "I don't want to see you like that, Evelyn," He mumbles with a weak frown on his face, stroking my cheek delicately with his thumb before speaking once again, "you'll see that time will fly by, you won't even notice that we were in Italy."
I pin my eyes on his while nodding weakly and he pecks my lips unhurriedly before pulling away with a smirk on his lips. I grab the hand that was on my cheek and rest it on my lap, taking the opportunity to analyse his ring clad fingers.
"Are any of my friends coming along on this trip?" I ask silently after a while, not taking my eyes off his hand and hearing him hum softly.
"Define friends."
"Niall and Meghan." I mutter with a small smile before looking up at him with hopeful eyes while he stares forward at the small screen in front of us displaying a movie.
"I believe they are, I'm not sure."
"I really hope they are." I mumble more to myself than to him. It is true, if they are indeed coming along it will probably make me feel so much better since they both know the truth and therefore might make me feel better easily.
"Harry, where's my phone? I want to take a picture!" Charlotte's voice wakes me up from my trance and I immediately let go of Harry's hand with widened eyes, my heart beating rapidly while my hands shakily fiddle with the end of my shirt.
Harry doesn't reply to her, turning his head to stare at me before cheekily winking and getting up from his seat to help Charlotte find her phone.
Quite shitty, I'm sorryyy! I hope you're enjoying nonetheless♡
