I enter my house with Harry next to me, both of us holding badly wrapped up gifts in our hands, closing the door behind me with a frown at the music coming from the living room.
After a tiring trip to a store nearby, since Harry decided that choosing a gift for an eight months old baby was the most important decision of his life, he decided to choose a small book while I chose a green dinosaur plushie.
We were quite in a rush so the wrapping paper looks horrible, but after all, it will go to the trash so it's not that significant.
I near the living room with a grin on my lips while Harry stays next to me the whole time, frowning at the sight in front of us while I try my hardest to contain my laughter.
Hazel is sitting on the couch, clapping as Louis stood in front of her with his back facing her small figure, pretending to hold a microphone in his hand as music comes from his phone. "Oops, I did it again, I played with your heart, got lost in the game, oh bab–"
"You go, Lou!" I cheer, watching as he turns to look at me with a pissed look in his eyes before throwing a pillow at me, to which Hazel immediately squeals and throws her pacifier at him.
"Hazel, you're supposed to defend me." Louis sighs, shaking his head in disapproval as Harry and I step into the living room so that Hazel could see us. She widens her eyes at us, moving her arms up and down and before I could do anything Harry puts his gift in my hands, scrambling over to Hazel and taking her in his arms.
"Happy monthday, dear!" He smiles down at her as I set the gifts on the couch while Louis stops the music and walks closer to where I am with a grin.
"You know, I wish I had a monthday sometimes," Louis informs us, furrowing his eyebrows with a grin on his lips while Harry gets closer to us with a soft smile on his lips.
"I think that at times everyone needs a monthday." I agree, letting out a laugh as Hazel pokes my cheek with her tiny finger while giggling to herself.
I take her in my arms and she presses a graceless kiss on my cheek, resting her head on my shoulder as I rub her back with a smile. Louis gestures for us to follow him with a motion of his finger before jogging away and into the kitchen.
Harry grabs the gifts, smiling over at me before we both follow Louis while Hazel attempts to speak before furrowing her eyebrows at her own voice.
Once we step into the kitchen Louis grabs something from a cabinet, showing us a bottle of wine. "I know you can't drink more than one glass but we all deserve it, even Hazel."
I laugh at his words, shaking my head to myself while setting Hazel on the table so she can sit there and smiling as she sits without her hands on the surface.
I keep a hand on her back to make sure nothing bad happens as Louis fills three glasses quietly while Harry keeps his mouth shut. I side glance at him, studying his posture since he seems so stiff while looking around and still holding the gifts in his hands.
I take one of them with my free hand and put it in Hazel's hand just as Louis finishes filling the glasses and gives one to each of us. "What do you have there?" Louis asks cheerily while Hazel frows at what she's holding.
She shakes it in her hand before looking up at Harry as if he would eventually decipher anything for her, but he merely brings the glass to his lips with an amused glint in his eyes.
"Maybe I should help her, right?" I mutter, carefully helping her with the wrapping paper as she looks very confused, only to reveal the plushie I bought.
You'd think that wrapping a plushie with wrapping paper would be impossible, but somehow I did, although I do know that I will never be able to do that again.
