We are now entering Liam's building, that was in fact slightly bigger than Harry's. I grabbed Hazel's basket where she was quietly talking, sticking her tongue out at times.
The ride here was rather awkward, with a grumpy Harry sitting next to me and a cheerful Liam on the front seat driving, asking me questions about my life.
We got inside, Hazel letting out a squeal while she plays with her pacifier for some odd reason, instead of putting it in her mouth. Liam looks at his secretary with a small smile and she looks up at him, turning her gaze to me and Hazel, before widening my eyes.
"Oh lord, she's so adorable!" She exclaims, rounding her desk before crouching so she can be in Hazel's eye level. Hazel looks at her with a slight frown, which made me remember of Harry but I quickly shook the feeling off.
She pouts her lips and I widen my eyes at her, mentally preparing myself to hear her loud cry and just as I was expecting, she started sobbing.
I put the basket on top of the desk, hoping the secretary wouldn't mind, and look at Hazel with worry. "Come on pumpkin, don't cry." I mumble, taking her out of her basket and she immediately rests her head on the crook of my neck.
"I'm so sorry, she isn't used to talk to so many people so I'm guessing that's why she is crying." I say, widening my eyes when I see Harry frowning, mentally cursing at myself for saying that.
"Amanda, please keep the basket here while we go to my office." Liam requests and she nods frantically, taking it in her hands and putting it behind her desk.
"I'm really sorry for scaring her." Amanda mumbles, walking closer to me. I wave her off, letting out a small laugh, Hazel straightening her back to look at Amanda with furrowed eyebrows.
"It's fine, she often overreacts." I say, looking at Hazel as she turns her head to look at me, a smile spreading on her lips while she once again bumps her mouth on my cheek in an attempt to give me a kiss.
"Let's go." Harry grumbles, starting to walk into the elevator and punching the button of it, Liam following him with an amused smirk.
Amanda waves at us as we walk away and I quietly stand between the two intimidating men as we wait for the elevator. Hazel was quietly gazing at Harry with a frown, glancing at me for a few seconds before turning her attention to Harry once again.
The elevator's doors open widely and we walk inside before Liam presses the button to the top floor. "You know your niece very well, it's very surprising." Liam says, trying to stop all of this silence.
"I uh, yeah, I like her a lot and spend a lot of time with her." I mumble, glancing at Hazel who was still looking at Harry, to which he was completely unaware.
He was looking at the doors of the elevator, a blank look on his face as he seems to completely ignore us. I kiss Hazel's cheek and she immediately turns her head to look at me with a wide smile. I almost melted under her absolutely adorable stare, containing my smile as she rests her head on my shoulder, letting out a quiet giggle.
With this, Harry seems to wake up from his trance and secretly looks at Hazel with a frown.
Fortunately, the doors open and we quickly step outside and I follow them to what I assume Liam's office. Once we get inside the office we come across a big table full of chairs, which I assumed that are used for meetings.
Liam pulls a chair back for me to sit and I quietly thank him while sitting down, glancing at Harry as he sits in the chair right in front of me. Liam stays standing, talking to Harry about their business and I keep myself busy with Hazel.
She turns her head to look at Harry once again, and I frown at her curiosity towards him. It was like she knew that he was familiar from somewhere but it was quite odd since she has never seen him before.
She looked at him with wonder, letting a babyish squeal to get his attention and I widen my eyes, quietly telling her to not make so much noise. She frowns, and I sigh while praying that she won't start a tantrum.
She started quietly sobbing, understanding that the man in front of her wouldn't give her any attention and as much as I hated the fact that she wanted him to take her in his arms, I also hated the fact that my daughter is upset.
"Mr.Styles." I mumble as Liam walks towards his desk, Harry looks at me with a frown and his jaw clenched making me gulp nervously, "she wants to go over to you."
He widens his eyes, taking a quick look at Hazel's crying state before looking at me once again. "Like, take her in my arms?" He asks confusedly and I hesitantly nod.
He sighs before extending his arms, and I quickly get up so it would be easier for him to take her. Once she's in his arms and they are face to face with each other, she cups his cheeks while looking at him with a furrowed eyebrows. He glances at her with confusion over his features, pressing his lips as their green eyes meet.
Liam comes back just as Hazel cuddles closer to Harry, resting her head on his shoulder as he widens his eyes for a brief moment before turning his attention to Liam once again.
I watched them with a small smile, and the more I looked the more I wanted to tell him the truth, foolishly forgetting about the possible outcome of it. It made me anxious that I couldn't tell him the shocking truth, I was truly afraid of his reaction. He's very closed, he likes to keep his feelings to himself and as much as I wanted him to accept the truth with open arms, I knew that it wouldn't happen.
I could only hope that one day I will feel much more confident about this situation, and scream at the top of my lungs that Hazel is indeed my daughter, and I expected him to be just fine with that. I didn't want him to just shrug nonchalantly and keep living his life like nothing happened, but I didn't want him to try to keep her just for him and I didn't want to argue about custody at all.
Maybe I was just expecting him to forget about his girlfriend and try to work this out, solve things with me and help me raise my daughter. Our daughter.
I just want them to be together aaa! I hope you're enjoying the story♡
