All I wanted was to find my soulmate, the one I was meant and destined to. My entire life, I'd been a hopeless romantic. There was this place in my heart that loved sappy rom-coms, wrote too many love songs for my unknown soulmate, and longed for true love like in the fairytales I'd spent my life reading.

Let me explain how this works.

In this universe, when a person turns eighteen, the clues that represent their soulmate are magically tattooed onto their arm or forehead. If by chance and fate, the person will meet their soulmate in a series of unexpected happenings or in the most random way possible.

I was turning 18 in a month. I anxiously counted down the days on her calendar, waiting for that day where I'd meet my soulmate.

My best friends Madison, Ethan, and Iris had found theirs a long time ago, but they were all a year older than me since I was the youngest in the friend group. I couldn't help envying their relationship with their significant others.

I dreamed of that fairytale romance, where the someone of my dreams would sweep me off my feet and to their castle on the clouds.

I wrote songs for that special someone... if I'd ever find them.
