More Time (Okita Sougo)

".....Miss, are you sure about this?" Taichi hesitantly looked over at (Y/N) who had just gotten out from the house.

She smiles softly, looking up at the high rise buildings all around Edo.

Gently, she placed a hand on Taichi's shoulder and smiled. "Living without him....was hell," She whispered with a fond smile.

"Now that I have time— and I'm free....I want it," She smiled happily— "To be with him."

"......I will always do as you say, Miss." Taichi sighs with a smile, leading her to where they would find him.

—To the shinsengumi.

"What?" Sougo scoffed, looking disgusted at the words Hijikata just said.

"—You have to do it, the lady specifically asked for you. There's nothing we can do—"

"Hijikata-san, do I look crazy to you?" Sougo cut him off and rolled his eyes at Hijikata.

"—By crazy, you mean out of your mind?— then yes, maybe—"

"I won't do it. I will never do a bodyguard assignment,"

Sougo's eyes looked down for a while, '....I made a promise.'

(Yahoo~ Flashback Start~)

Sougo blinked his huge red eyes at the sight of the female who he always spotted with his sister.

A devilish grin appears on his lips when he confirmed that it was her, before he slowly crept his way behind her.

"Boo!"

"Wah!" (Y/N) yelps, startled but when she saw Sougo she sighed. "Sougo-kun, you shouldn't scare me like that— it's bad for my heart." She placed a hand on her chest.

At this point, Sougo remembered how his Sister always told him that (Y/N) was sick so he shouldn't scare her so often.

"....Right, I forgot." He pouted, feeling sorry all of a sudden.

(Y/N) smiled when Sougo sat beside her. She then noticed a small cut on his cheek and hurriedly took out a band aid from her pocket.

"Were you training hard again today?" She asks softly and Sougo grinned widely.

"I managed to land a blow on Hijikata-san. In no time, I can kill him."

"Sougo-kun's so hard working, I'm sure you'll grow up to be a strong man~"

"I will!" Sougo huffed and looked at her, "Then, I can protect you and be your bodyguard!"

"Oh?" She tilted her head, "You want to be a bodyguard, Sougo-kun?"

"No, when I grow up I'm gonna be the Captain of the Shinsengumi!"

"....Shinsengumi, what's that?"

"...Something I heard from Kondo-san," Sougo shrugged, "What about you? What do you want to be when you grow up?"

(Y/N) looked down and smiled lowly, "I'm not sure I'll even live that long—" She sighs, "But when I do— Will you protect me, Sougo-kun?"

"O-Of course!!" Sougo exclaimed with a small blush, making her chuckle.

"Then," She pauses as she opens the band aid. "When we both grow old— I'll look for you, and you can protect me then." She ends as she places the band aid on his cheek.
