I instantly start googling about labor, forgetting everything I learned during my pregnancy while Hero goes over to tell his friends his goodbyes.
"What are you doing?!" I shriek as Hero lifts me from where I'm standing and starts power walking while carrying me bride style across the grass.
"My friend has his car here so hes going to take us to the hospital."
"Why are you having him take us to the hospital? I've only had one contraction not even ten minutes ago."
"I could tell how much it hurt you, were going to the hospital." He says not slowing down.
"Hero, calm down. We need to wait till I have more contractions and I need my hospital bag."
"Then lets have him at least drive us home." He sighs in defeat.
"Okay but can you put me down?" I laugh.
He puts me down but grabs my hand, leading me to his friends car. After buckling me in like a child in the backseat he gets into the passenger seat. I tune out their conversation and return to looking up info on labor when another contractions hits me, making me drop my phone.
"Babe?" Hero says turning back to me and placing his hands over mind on my stomach. "You okay?"
I nod my head once it passes and pick up my phone to check the time noting they are about 13 minutes apart. Hero tells his friend something as we pull up to the house before turning to me.
"Stay here, I'm going to grab your bag and then hes taking us to the hospital." He hops out of the car before I can argue and his friend starts asking me questions trying to keep me in the car.
Within minutes Hero is back in the car and we are on our way to the hospital. Even though I know my contractions are not close enough to go into the hospital they are so painful I don't care.
Less then ten minutes later another one comes on stronger, making me grab the seats and door handle in the car. I try not to embarrass myself and scream but the pain is so extreme I almost can't help it.
Once we get checked into the hospital I change into the gown I'm given and within minutes the nurse is back to strap the fetal monitors onto my belly. I had more contractions between the car ride and checking in but I wasn't able to time them with everything going on but they seem to be getting closer together.
Next the nurse checks how dilated I am, telling me I am 2.5 cm dilated. She leaves us for a while telling us they are going to monitor my contractions then will be back to check me again.
While we wait anxiously listening to the babies heart beat over the monitor, both of us text our families to update them. Hero lets me squeeze the life out of his hands and forearms whle he tells me sweet things but its the last thing I wasn't to hear.
After a hour the contractions are minutes apart and at this point unbearable when the nurse finally comes back giving us the news that will change our lives. "It looks like your having a baby tonight, your almost at 4 cm. Soon we can start the epidural."
