The week leading up to my doctors appointment was not as care free as the last, with both of us having to rejoin the working world. Between promo for our movie starting soon and our own individual projects we both had plenty to do.

My name is finally called after sitting in the waiting room for over a hour. We follow the nurse into the exam room and after giving her a brief rundown, she checks my weight and temperature then my blood pressure before having me pee in a cup for a pregnancy test. She gives me a gown to change into and leaves us alone, letting us know the doctor would be in shortly.

I change shyly into the gown in front of Hero as he stares at my body. Feeling dumb in the gown I take a seat on the exam table, trying to calm down. Hero seems so calm and unaffected right now while I am a complete mess.

The doctor finally comes in minutes later and after introductions we go over my medical history and concerns before we move on to the pelvic exam. During the exam Heros face turns hard and he moves to stand by my head, holding my hand.

When the doctor is finished he pulls my gown back down covering me before getting right down to business. "Everything looks good. I don't know if this is good news or bad news but your pregnancy test had had a faint positive line. That could either mean you are pregnant or its a false positive. Going by the dates you stopped taking birth control I think it is a little early for a correct urine test so I am going to order a blood test. We should have the results back anytime from tomorrow to early next week. If the blood test comes back negative I will prescribe you the same birth control you were on before but because you guys have not used any sort of protection, there is still a chance you could be pregnant so you will want to wait to start the birth control until the first day of your next period. Just to be safe."

Hero squeezes my hand and starts asking the doctor questions not missing a beat while I just nod. I tune them out, my brain going crazy trying to process everything.

"Josephine do you have anymore questions?" The doctor asks snapping me back to reality.

"No..." I hesitate. "No."

"Okay then we will talk more after I get the results from your blood work. For now, I will advise that you not drink any alcohol or smoke and get plenty of rest just in case you are pregnant. Stay inside and make sure to wear a mask and gloves if you do need to go out for anything." He stands to leave, shaking our hands then adds looking to Hero."Take care of her, yeah?"

Once he is out of the room I move to get dressed but am stopped when Hero moves his body into mine, holding me. I look up at his face and he smiles down at me, kissing me gently.

"Stop overthinking things." He tells me. I love that he knows me so well that he can tell whats going on in my head. He takes my hand in his, moving them to my belly.

"Its so crazy thinking that something we created might be in there." He whispers.

I swoon, loving this side of him.

"It is." I reply, having so much to say but not knowing how to say it.

"Either way we got this baby. I love you so much."

I take a couple deep breaths, relaxing into him and a sense of warmth spreads through my body.

"I love you too." I tell him kissing him, suddenly calm for the first time all day.
