November had passed as quickly as it had started and the beginning of December was nearing. James had kept to his word, joining Regulus in the library for their study sessions three times a week and it was the one of the only things he looked forward to. He hadn't learnt much, I mean, how could he? How was he supposed to concentrate when Reggie was sat right there, fiddling with his soft curls and explaining each subject in his perfectly sweet tone? The answer was - he couldn't. That wouldn't have been possible because James Potter was so incredibly infatuated with this boy that it got to the point where he couldn't even go a day without seeing him or a second without thinking of him. Only, there always had to be a 'but'.

The 'but' in this certain situation was that even though James was no longer with Mary, Regulus was still with Bailey. And he looked...happy. James wanted to tell him how much he loved him, how much of a lovesick puppy Reg had made him, but he couldn't. Reggie was happy, truly happy, how did you expect him to ruin that? He could loose him forever, and there was no way that he was about to risk that. So he didn't.

"Are you ever actually going to man up and tell them?" Peter said, looking up from his homework after Remus and Sirius had left the common room.

"I'm not too sure what you mean, Wormtail." James replied whilst reading over the Potions notes Regulus had made him revise.

"I think you do." He remarked with a raised eyebrow. James didn't answer, too busy staring at the parchment in front of him and thinking about a certain raven-haired Slytherin. "Prongs! For Merlin's sake. Are you going to tell the others that you like guys or not? If you don't, I might just have to tell them about Regulus."

"I know, I know, okay! I'm working on it!"

"Working on it? James I've had to lie to my best friends for about two months, I don't want to do it anymore. Just, please."

"I'm sorry, Pete. I get it. I'll do it- I'll do it tonight, alright?" Wormtail nodded before going back to his homework. James felt horrible. Had it really been 2 months already? All that time, Peter hadn't let him down once (not including the Mary thing....or the being extremely ill thing...or that one time at the beginning of November when James had apparently joined Herbology club for the upcoming 2 weeks....why was there even a club for that?). Peter had been there for him, and now James was making him lie, and lie...and lie.

Pete's face fell, a hand running through his hair.

"Hey, what's up, mate? I'm really sorry, I will tell them-" He was interrupted by Peter groaning and leaving the room. Shit, what had he done this time? Shit. Shit. Shit.

Panicking, James sifted through all of their conversations in the past two months, hoping to find out something he might have missed or....forgotten...

"I know...I just. I- URGH I LIKE SOMEONE!" James chuckled, running a hand through his hair but stopping instantly when he realized Peter wasn't laughing along with him.

"Wait, you're serious?"

"No, that's Sirius." He muttered, pointing in the direction of Sirius' bed.
