"Reggie. Reggie, wake up. We have school today, Reggie." Regulus groaned and rolled over in the bed, turning his back to James, "Aw, Reggie, please! C'mon, Reggie."

"G'MORNING, BABY BROTHER! THE WORLD HAS WELCOMED YOU TO ANOTHER WONDERFUL DAY IN THIS PERFECT UNIVERSE, SO GET YOUR FAT ASS OUT OF BED AND EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE I SIT ON YOUR FACE!" Sirius burst into the room, pulling open the curtains, dramatically and dancing around.

"WHAT THE FUCK? DON'T SIT ON HIS FACE!" James exclaimed, covering his eyes from the early morning, bright light.

"WHY? ARE YOU JEALOUS, PRONGSIE?"

"HELL, NO! WHY WOULD I BE JEALOUS OF YOU?"

"WHY THE FUCK IS EVERYONE YELLING?" Peter shouted as he entered the room, Remus following behind him.

"I don't know...I don't know." Regulus mumbled, shaking his head.

Remus groaned, "Well, I have a terrible headache so if you could all shut the hell up, that would be great." At this comment, everyone went quiet. Remus was still recovering from the full moon three days prior and so he still had constant headaches and pains.

Regulus finally made his way downstairs to eat something when James got up to help Remus pack his trunk, the others soon joining him. When the trunk was packed, they all sat down in the living room, chatting excitedly about their first day.

"Boys?" Mr Potter came into the room, his hands in his pockets and a worried expression on his face, "Boys, can I have a word?"

"Of course, Dad. What's wrong?"

"Your- your mother has got a bit of a...cold...she's a bit sick at the moment so make sure to be nice? I know you always are, it's just- well, she's a bit tired so don't let her worry about you all going back to school, alright?" James jumped up out of his seat and hurried over to his father.

"Is she going to be okay? She'll be fine, won't she? Does she need to go to the hospital?"

"Yes, yes, she'll be fine, Jamie. If she gets worse, I'll take her to Saint Mungo's, I promise." Regulus could see how strong the two Potters were trying to act when they parted, James going to see his mum, and Mr Potter picking at his food. There was only one thing going through Reg's mind at this moment, and he knew that everyone else was thinking the same thing.

This wasn't a cold.

"James Potter. You be a good boy this year, all right? You're Head-Boy now, lots of responsibility! I wish to hear only good things." Mrs Potter began to tear up as she fixed James' collar in the crowded platform. "You need to be very brave this year too, but I already know you can do that. Be safe, be strong, and we'll see you when you come home." She pulled him into a hug as she sobbed, "I love you."

"I love you too, Mama. Everything will be fine. Please don't cry, it's okay."

"Come on, Darling. Let the lad breathe." Mr Potter rubbed his wife's back comfortingly until she let go of James. "Love you, Troublemaker." He mumbled, also hugging his son. "Protect your friends, protect everyone, I know you will."
