Regulus was finally at peace as he watched James paint on a white canvas from across the dorm, a sketchbook in his own hands, drawing the scene in front of him. He couldn't see what James was painting but it involved a variety of darker colours - neutral tones.

He looked back down at his parchment when James turned to look at him, hearing a faint chuckle.

"Admiring me, Reggie?" The Gryfinddor teased, his famous smirk written all over his face. Now that James had moved slightly, Regulus received a clearer view of his painting. It was the faint outline of Regulus petting Sammy the horse in Erin's stables. A faint blush grew on James' face when he realized that Reg had seen.

"Like you can say much." Jay shrugged, one corner of his mouth curving upwards in a half-grin. "It's astounding, Potter."

"Cheers." Regulus rolled his eyes and went back to his drawing, ignoring when his boyfriend stood up from his stool and made his way over, standing behind him to look over his shoulder. "Yours is better."

"Yes, it is," James laughed and nudged Reg in the side, "But you moved so now I can't finish it." His eyes widened before running back to his stool, sitting down and continuing on with his painting so that Regulus could continue to draw him.

Peter and Remus had laughed at the two boys when they arrived back at the dorm room from wherever it was that they had been. They had said something about them being 'odd'. Reg didn't think they were, though. He was an artist, he had every right to be 'odd'. He didn't mind being 'odd' because he was being 'odd' with James at his side. He'd be or do anything for James.

"Regulus Black! We only have a few months until O.W.Ls and if you spend the whole time with your face in that book, you'll never pass!" Bailey lectured, slamming her quill down onto the library table. "What are you writing in there anyway?"

She tried to reach for the book but Regulus managed to snatch it away at the last second.

"No. That's not happening."

"Ooooo! Is it your diary?" She rested her chin on her palms, staring at him intently.

"Yes. James gave it to me." Her smile dropped for less than a second before reappearing back onto her expression.

"That's frickin' charming." Reg nodded and continued writing. This time, sadly, he was too slow to grab his book when Bailey took it.

"Bailey!"

"I'm not going to read it, I promise. That would be a horrible thing to do, but you can't be writing in there right now! Study time, Reg! Study, study, study!" He groaned quietly before opening up one of the Defence Against The Dark Arts textbook. How the hell was he supposed to remember everything in this book?

"Where's Humph? Milo?" He asked after about 30 minutes of straight reading, his eyes were beginning to ache.

"Milo found a way to sneak the two of them into his dorm without going through the common room. Some sort of secret passage that Potter showed him." James was helping his friends? Okay, now that was just adorable.

So he couldn't even escape to hang out with the boys? Bloody Merlin. Sirius had been trying to not make it obvious that he was avoiding Reg, failing miserably - therefore he could not hang out with his brother. Maybe he shouldn't have brought up Deatheaters on that one morning. Actually, there was no 'maybe' about it. He definitely should not have brought up Deatheaters that breakfast, it had ruined everything.

"You okay, Reg?" Bailey placed her hand upon his and he smiled up at her.

"Yeah, fine. Thanks." She didn't look convinced but didn't push further. Regulus was so grateful for Bailey. She would be there for him when he needed to talk, but she wouldn't force him to talk. Humphrey would find some sort of poetic speech to give him. James wouldn't let it go until he had the whole story. Milo would give him strange looks until he finally snapped and gave in. Sirius would guess the whole situation and bring it up at the most random of times, whether his guess was right or wrong. Bailey's was the most preferable, to be completely honest.

"What happened to you and Potter's study sessions?"

"He started doing well in potions on his own, there was no need for them anymore." She nodded, turning the page in her book (of which was much bigger than her own head).

"You know you can always talk to me, yeah?" She asked, he could feel her gaze staring into the top of his head as he looked down at the table.

"Of course, thank you."

"Of course." The rest of their time in the library was silent, a comfortable silence, but something was off. Regulus could...feel that Bailey was deep in thought. It wasn't the book she was thinking about, it was something worse, more sensitive. Her expression gave nothing away, but as her best friend, Reg could tell that she was not okay. The young Black had never been much of a comforter, what was he to do? All he could think of was to wrap an arm around her waist, side hugging her. "Thank you."

"Anytime, little sis."

"You're only 44 days older than me."

"Shut the fuck up."
