"WAKE UPPPP" someone yelled while shaking my shoulder. I jolted awake.

"God Emma. Why did you wake me up like that?" I asked annoyed as I sat up. The sun was filtering through the window.

"Becauseeeeeeee we have classes todayyyyy!" she sang in a sing-song voice. I rolled my eyes. How could anyone be this happy on a monday morning? I thought to myself. "Come onnnn get ready!" she whined.

"Fine. Jeez."

Emma laughed and got off my bed.

Emma and I have been friends since our first year. She's always been there for me and I her. But she doesn't know about my self harm. No one does. It's a secret that I have kept to myself for years.

I quickly got dressed and Emma and I headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast.

We sat down at the Gryffindor table. Emma was next to me.

"So," She started. "I heard that a certain chosen one has a crush on you!"

"No way." I said annoyed.

"Yes! Hermione told me! And she's like, his best friend. I am pretty sure that counts as a reliable source."

"Sure he does." I said sarcastically.

"Hey Y/N." Said a voice in front of us. Harry.

Emma elbowed me.

"Hi." I said.

"Could I talk to you?" Asked Harry.

I looked over at Emma. "Of course you can!" Emma said to Harry.

"Great!"

I hesitantly stood up and followed Harry outside the Great Hall.

Harry faced me. "I was just wondering if you wanted to come with me to Hogsmeade on Saturday?"

"Oh ummm. I guess." I really don't want to go with him but I don't want to hurt his feelings.

"Brilliant. I will see you Saturday then."

I nodded.

He turned around and headed back into the Great Hall.

Great. Just fucking great.

After dinner I headed down to the dungeons for my detention with Snape.

I entered the classroom. He stood up from his desk when he saw me and strode over to me. He held out a sponge. "You will be cleaning the cauldrons. I have to go run a few errands but I will be back soon." I took the sponge from him. He walked past me and left the room.

I sighed and walked to the cauldrons on a table. My back to the door. I pushed up my sleeves. I took a moment to look at what I did last night. To someone that doesn't self harm it would look really, really bad. But for me, this was nothing. It was only one arm from my wrist to elbow. My other arm was clean. Usually it isn't.

I got to work.

After about twenty minutes I was halfway done.

"What is that?" Asked a deep voice from behind me.

My eyes widened and I quickly spun around. Snape was staring at me. I quickly pushed my sleeves down.

"What is that?" He asked again but this time softer.

"It's nothing."

"That is not nothing. What happened?"

"Nothing happened. I am fine."

"Y/N."

I looked at him. That was the first time I had ever heard him call me by my name.

His eyes were soft. "What happened?"

"Nothing. Can I please go?"

He was silent for a moment. "Fine."

I quickly moved past him and left the room.
