"oh no," i muttered. "jaemin..."

"yes, ara?" he smiled, but it didn't exactly reach is eyes.

i wiped my nose with the back of my hand. "jaemin...i cried my makeup off. onto your shirt and neck."

he glanced at his shoulder for a brief second. "yeah, i can see that. but as long as you're okay," he said softly.

i almost began crying again. he was being too kind.

"c'mon," i said. my voice cracked, so i cleared my throat. "let's get you changed and my makeup reapplied." i had luckily brought my makeup bag. it wasn't the whole collection, but it was enough. i wouldn't dare enter my house again just for makeup. i would rather go outside bare-face than meet taeyong right now.

jaemin walked around the car, and pulled out the key, turning it off. then, he led me into his house, holding onto my hand. his thumb continued to rub circles on the back of my hand. he only let go to unlock the door, which we quickly entered.

knowing jaemin's house as well as my own, i walked into his bedroom and sat down at his desk, which used to have a giant mirror that had lights attached on the sides. it was great for makeup, and i was familiar with it.

i looked around. "where's the mirror?" i peeked under the table as if there would be a giant mirror floating there. jaemin called out something from the bathroom, where he had taken a new shirt to change into. it was muffled so i yelled again, louder, "where's the mirror?"

"i threw it away," he said, coming to the room, pulling down his shirt at the same time. i may have accidentally gotten a peek of his abs, but that wasn't something to dwell on.

i gasped at his response. "why? it was my favorite!"

"because it shattered."

my eyes widened. "that's bad luck! a very big bucket of bad luck!" i dropped my voice to a mock whisper. "you're going to need a really big good luck charm."

he shrugged. "i have you. you're the only good luck charm i need."

i blushed. "you flirt. stop it." i ignored his smirk, and turned back to the desk. "guess i'll have to do without it. i can't do it in your bathroom because your mirror's too freakin' high."

he snorted. "i'm not even as tall as my friends, but okay. they always complain that it's too low." his eyes widened as if he had just discovered the method to become immortal. "or maybe...you're just too small."

"shh. don't let them know!"

he laughed. "ah, yes. a secret just between us two."

i grabbed my makeup bag and flipped it upside down. brushes, eyeliner, my perfect mix of foundation and concealer: practically everything was in here. ignore what i said before about not having enough; i was a prepared bitch.
