Jonathan's POV

It's Sunday night and I start school in Smallville tomorrow. I'm finishing packing my backpack since I had been avoiding it all weekend. I'm just trying to think about everything.

I mean this is the first time I've ever had to go to school alone. Ever. I don't have any friends here and I'm not looking forward to seeing the guys that beat me and Jordan up at the bonfire again.

My thoughts were interrupted when mom came in.

"Hey Jon."

"Hey mom" I said, stuffing some pencils in my backpack.

"Are you excited for school?" Mom asked while taking a seat on my bed. I just shrugged. I really just wanted to finish packing and go to sleep.

"Are you nervous..?" She asked hesitantly.

" No." I said firmly. I was about to ask her if we could talk later but when I turned around she looked at me with loving eyes. I just sighed knowing I wouldn't be able to ask her to leave.

"I-I just miss home that's all, but really i'm fine it's just going to take some time." I said sincerely. She just gave me a look of sympathy while nodding her head.

"How are you and Eliza, is she going to come visit soon."

"No, with school going on and the whole Superman thing I thought it wouldn't be the best time to invite her, But we're doing okay." I said, faking a smile.

The truth is she never gave me an answer she just said that she needs to see about a few things. I know her. She was trying to brush off the invitation. I don't know what's going to happen with me and her, but I hope we can fix it and just talk.

"Well that's really good honey, you guys are handling this really maturely" She said while giving me a hug.

"Goodnight Jon," she said walking out.

"Goodnight." After she left I closed my door. I had finished packing everything so I just jumped on my bed and let out a frustrating whine into my pillow. After I was doen throwing my tantrum I put my phone to charge and I let myself fall unconscious.

************************* The next morning**************************

Jonathan's POV

I woke up the next morning to my alarm. Annoyed, I slammed my hand on my alarm clock successfully breaking it. I hadn't processed what I had done so I just went back to sleep. Or that was the plan until my dad bursted through the door.

"Jonathan, are you okay?" He asked worriedly. Slamming my door open.

"Mhmn" I said, still practically sleeping.

"What was that noise- '' He stopped before finishing. Interested in why I opened my eyes to see my dad looking at my now broken alarm clock. He then noticed eyes on him and he sent me a glare before running his hands over his nose.

"Jonathan get up and get ready for school." He said strictly. I got up sensing some anger behind his voice, it was way too early to get grounded so I listened to him.

"That alarm clock is coming out of your allowance." He said before leaving. I just banged my head against the wall groaning.

I got ready and once I was done I swung my backpack over my shoulder and went into the kitchen to see everyone up and eating. Jordan was wearing a snow jacket and so was dad.

"Where are you guys going?" I asked.

"I'm taking you to school, and then I'm going to the paper for my first day." Mom said.

"Well congrats mom." I said.

"Thank you honey." She said, giving me a hug.

"I'm taking your brother to somewhere where we can learn more about his powers." He said looking at Jordan.

" Yeah, and I'm really excited." I just nodded with a thumbs up as I stuffed my face with a pancake, before getting up.

"You ready honey?" Mom asked, grabbing her bag. I just nodded.

"We should be going too." Dad motioned to Jordan. Mom and I were walking to the car when dad and Jordan took off flying.

"How come Jordan gets to go flying with dad and I have to go to school?" I asked mom.

"At least we have radio" she said before getting in the car. I just sighed before getting in too.
