One Last Chance [Countryhumans! Germany x Reader Fanfic]

Chapter 39

War began in various countries around the globe with the humans refusing to give up their land, while others surrendered to save themselves. Homes were being demolished in every direction, smoke rose from the ground and into the sky as the fires burned ferociously. Death roamed the battlefields awaiting for its victims to fall into its arms.

UN and EU protected the people of Peru to the best of their ability, along with the five puppies tackling and sneaking up on the villainous soldiers without being detected or getting hit by their weapons. England was there too, but he was off in another section of the country rescuing captured children and adults from the undead soldiers. 

Fascist Italy was welcomed into a Canadian household who agreed to aiding him after hearing his story. They were in a secret underground room the family had built just in case of an emergency like this. The evil army had already raided their home and checked every nook and cranny of their home, so they were most likely safe from them.

UN dived and scooped a young boy into his arms, flapping his wings and shooting himself back up into the air. He carried the little boy over to a safe place, passing EU, which was fighting off two enemies with his bare fists. One punch and kick after another, none of the men would go down, until Alostar and Pumpkin jumped onto the soldiers' backs. EU stomped on their heads once the puppies were off. They weren't countries, but old Nazi soldiers, so he had to get rid of them.

“Alright, let's go!” EU gestures for the two puppies to follow him. They barked and ran along with him. 

UN handed the boy over to a woman who would look after and take care of the child while he went out to save more people. 

Lennard, Maxie, and JJ were there also watching over the little kids. If a child needed someone to talk to, hang out, or play with, then they would be there to support them.

A building on the edge of collapsing caught UN's attention, along with a loud cry of another child. He swiftly flew into the building but carefully landed onto the floor and walked around. He called out to the crying child, eventually receiving a response coming from up the stairs.

He made his way up and ended up finding a young girl huddling in a corner in fear. A big hole stood before her and she couldn't get around it nor jump over it.

UN floated over the hole as his wings flapped gently. He extended his arms out at her, explaining to her that he was there to save her. He also said that the building was close to collapsing in on itself, so they had to leave now.

The girl didn't trust him at first, but she agreed to go with him after some convincing. UN flew out of there just in time, because right as they reached the outside, the building fell and created an enormous cloud of gray dust.

EU slowed down and entered the tent breathing heavily. He wiped the sweat off his forehead and sat down on a chair, grabbing a bottle and drinking some water. Alostar and Pumpkin had separated from the organization to go find their siblings.

England sprinted into the forest with three children, two under his armpits and another sitting on his back with their legs wrapped around his neck. He was being chased and he had to find a way to escape the armed men behind him.

He took one glance behind him and it seemed like he was far enough away from them. He stopped and ordered the kids to climb up a tree. They were hesitant, but they listened to him and did so. He followed after them, going up as high as they could.

The soldiers went right by.

England caught the last child and set them down onto their feet upon the forest floor. He picked the three children up again and continued running but towards a different direction.
