One Last Chance [Countryhumans! Germany x Reader Fanfic]

Chapter 42

Netherlands switched the lights on, Ghana, Comoros, South Africa, Somalia, and FBI marched in after him into the laboratory in an orderly fashion. The testing and experimental grounds in a separate area were activated and ready to use. In the room next to that area was where they kept their next test subjects, the five puppies locked up in a cage. FBI opened the door to reveal that the puppies were gone and no longer in their cage, which was on the floor. The countries and organization were bewildered, unable to think of how they could have gotten out. Comoros noticed a vent off to the side, which had a big hole in it. It looked like it had been melted with a liquid because on the floor of the small room was a container half empty of an orange substance. Some of it spilled onto the floor as well as on the shelf where the puppies' cage was. They could tell because the wood was also dissolved. Netherlands ordered his team to search the vents for them, and soon enough they were out and about in the facility looking for them. 

The one thing that they didn't know is that they weren't in the vents anymore, instead they had escaped the building and are now wandering in the woods.

Lennard barked as he reached the top of a hill, calling for his siblings to hurry up. JJ and Maxie made it up, but Pumpkin was struggling, so Alostar stayed behind with her and pushed his sister up the hill with all his strength. JJ and Maxie ran back down and helped Pumpkin make it to the top of the hill. It was cold, but not too cold for the puppies to stop and hide out until the temperature rose up. They moved forward, heading through rivers, gaps in the ground, and more hills. It started to drizzle a little bit so Maxie led the group into a nearby hollow log. It snowed for a while, and eventually it stopped after an hour. However, the boulder beside the log moved, causing the log to go rolling in another direction. The puppies huddled up together until the log hit a tree and quit rolling. They exited the log through one side and walked onto the snow to see a house, but within seconds they were lifted into the air and trapped in a net above the ground.

An alarm rang and soon a family came running out with weapons. They thought that they had caught an enemy soldier, but instead they realized that they caught five puppies. The father lowered the net and set them free from their trap. JJ examined each person, barking a couple times at his siblings, telling them that they should stay with them. They agreed and went up to the humans, sitting and looking up at them with pleading eyes. The humans looked at one another and decided to take them in. Once inside the house, the five puppies noticed another person walking out of a room. It was a countryhuman, Fascist Italy to be exact.

"Alright," North Carolina said, backing away, "try to use them now." 

Germany attempted to trigger his cybernetic abilities once again, but it failed.

"Okay, looks like it's going to be the other wires then." The state opened up the panel to Germany's cybernetic powers and fixed the wires together. She shut the panel and screwed it on tight so it doesn't flip open. "This has to be it. Try again."

The German aimed his mechanical eye toward a glass bottle. The rewiring worked because the software booted up and the glass was shattered into multiple pieces by a laser. You cheered along with NATO, Australia, and the rest of the countries. You and Germany had met up with them earlier. You were both so happy to see them, but once you saw NATO, Germany almost attacked him, but ASEAN cleared everything. He explained how NATO was now on their side, and the organization himself even apologized for getting you punished for something you didn't do. You forgave him later on.

Hawaii came through the doors with a tray holding small bowls of ice cream. You each grabbed one and began to eat it.

"There are so many of you." Iran remarked. "How many of you states exist?"

"Well, before this whole ordeal occured, including states other than only America's, more than three hundred I would say. Maybe even one thousand."

"Woah." British Empire was quite shocked. 

"(Y/N), shouldn't you know?" KKK asked.

"If I'm bad at one thing, it's knowing how many countries and states exist. Heck, I don't even know the state capitals of each country." You responded.

Germany stood behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your head. You giggled and playfully slapped his cheek.

"I wanna go back inside." You said, scooping up some ice cream with your spoon. "I feel like sitting down and reading a book."

"On it!" Germany swept you off your feet. You yelped and laughed.

"I can walk, dummy!" Your voice faded as he carried you inside, leaving your friends outside to chill for the rest of the day.

Third Reich scanned the area around him with a smile, Canada walking up beside him as he closed the portal behind them. The old facility was growing vines and vegetation and parts of the buildings were cracked.

"We are here, Canada. Now, you know what to do." The Nazi turned to his corrupted henchman.

Canada walked forward and sniffed the air. He sunk into the ground below, appearing in a grassy area surrounded by a huge building. He hid behind a foundation and saw NATO along with his targets. He was surprised to see that NATO was there.

He returned to Third Reich and telepathically described every single but of information that he had. He mentioned their cybernetic organization NATO, and Third Reich was not happy to hear that. He became angry, but he quickly calmed himself down. Grinning, he chuckled.

"Here is what we will do..."
