Chapter 6

Peeta’s POV:

We wake up the next morning and head downstairs into the kitchen. 

“Peeta will you make me cheese buns?”

She bats her eyes at me sweetly.

“Fine. Anything for you!”

“Before I start making the cheese buns, I take Katniss’s hand. 

“Katniss, I know I haven’t said this yet since I’ve gotten back from District 13, but I love you.

“Oh my gosh Peeta I thought you’d never say that again! I love you too!”

We kiss passionately until Katniss pulls away.

“I know you were enjoying that, but I’m really hungry. Can you make the cheese buns now?”

I laugh and say, “sure.”

When I’m finished baking them I hand it to her and we sit down at the table.

“Peeta, these are amazing! I love your baking!”

“I’m glad you do!”

She smiles and we finish eating.

“Katniss, do you wanna do something today?”

“Sure, what do you wanna do?”

“How about a picnic?”

“That sounds romantic!”

We wait a little bit and then we start packing up a basket.

After we finish getting ready I take her hand and we walk out of Katniss’s house into the meadow.

When we get there we lay out the blanket and start eating.

When we were finished, we lay in the flowers together with Katniss’s head on my chest. Then I whisper...

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”
