Chapter 31

Katniss's POV:

The next day after breakfast, we get a call from Annie.

"Hi Annie!"

"Hi Katniss!"

"What's up?"

"Well I have a favor to ask yo guys."

"What is it?"

"Well I have to go out of town, and since you guys were planning on having a child soon, I figured you might want to test out your parenting skills. So, can you watch Finnie  until tomorrow morning?"

"Sure!"

"Great I'll bring him over now. We'll be there soon!"

I hang up the phone and tell Peeta.

"Who called?"

"Annie."

"What what she calling about?"

"Well since she knows we want to have a child soon, she's letting us test our parenting skills and we're going to watch Finnick from today until tomorrow morning!"

"That's great!"

We hear the doorbell ring and we find Annie folding Finnie.

"Hi Annie how are you?" asks Peeta.

"I'm good. Well I have to go to District 10 for work so I'll be back tomorrow okay?"

"That's fine!"

"Well I'm going to give you Finnick and here's his bag full of his diapers and his food."

She hands Finnick Jr. to Peeta and hands me the bag."

"Call me if you need anything!"

As all of this is happening, I'm thinking, "this is going to be hard! He's only 2 years old!"

Peeta lets Finnie down and he runs around the living room.

"Finnie be careful!" I say.

I take out his toys and set them on the floor to play with.

Peeta and I sit on the floor and play with him.

"He's so cute!" I say.

"I know!"

"Hey Finnie, do you want to go to the meadow?" asks Peeta.

"Ya!" says Finnie while clapping his hands.

Peeta holds Finnick as we both walk hand in hand to the meadow.

We both hold Finnick's hand as we run around the meadow.

When we get home, Finnick starts to cry.

"Are you hungry Finnie?"

He nods his head up and down.

We pull him in his booster seat and feed him the baby food that Annie brought.
