Chapter 16
Peeta’s POV:
The next day we decide to tell everyone including all of our bridesmaids and groomsmen about the engagement and their position in the wedding.
We invite over Johanna, Effie, Haymitch, Beetee, Plutarch, Annie, and her son Finnick Jr. They will be over later in the day.
Katniss and I sit at the table eating breakfast.
“So Katniss, are you excited?”
“For what?”
“Our wedding of course!”
“You know I’m excited! It’s going to be the best day ever!”
“Yes it will!”
I push my lips to hers and then we go upstairs to get dressed.
After we get ready for everyone to come over, we sit on the couch and watch TV.
About an 1 hour later, we hear a knock on the door. When we open it, everyone is standing there.
“Hey guys!” says Katniss.
“Hi!” says everyone and then we all sit in the living room.
“You guys are probably all wondering why you’re all here.” I said.
“Duh!” says Johanna.
“Well Haymitch and Effie already know this but we are engaged!” said Katniss. while holding up her hand to show her ring.
“Oh my gosh! Congrats!” says Annie.
“Thanks!” says both Katniss and I.
“Your ring is absolutely gorgeous!” says Johanna.
“We all knew this would happen eventually.” said Beetee.
Me and Katniss both look at each other and smile. I grab her hand and squeeze it lightly.
“We also have other news for you guys.” says Katniss.
“What is it?” says Plutarch.
“Well I’ve picked a best man and it will be Beetee!”
“That would be an honor! Thank you!” says Beetee.
“My maid of honor will be Johanna.”
“Oh my gosh Katniss thank you!”
“Your welcome!”
“My groomsmen will be Haymitch and Plutarch.”
“Thanks!” says both of them.
“My bridesmaids will be Effie and Annie!”
“Oh dear thank you so much!” says Effie hugging her.
“Yes thank you!” says Annie.
“Our flower girl will now be a flower boy and little Finnick here will be it.” I said while I tickled him.
“Thank you Uncle Peeta and Aunt Katniss!” says Finnick while clapping his hands.
“Your welcome!” I said and I pick him up and put him in my lap.
“Lastly, because my father is no longer with us, Haymitch will walk me down the aisle.”
“That would be my pleasure sweetheart,” said Haymitch.
