Peeta’s POV:

The next day I head to the bakery to go to work.

I get there and start making the pastries when Katniss walks in.

“Hey Katniss! What are you doing here?”

“I just missed you.”

“Aw. Do you want to stay?”

“I would love to.”

We kiss softly then I get back to work while Katniss sits at the counter watching me.

A little while later, I hear the door open and see someone I did not want to see for a long time.

Gale.

“Hey guys!” says Gale.

“What are you doing here?” asks Katniss.

“I just wanted to visit District 12, since I’ve been in District 2 for a while.”

“Oh ok,” I said.

“Well what do we got here?” asks Gale while holding Katniss’s hand.

“What are you talking about?” asks Katniss.

“This,” says Gale as he points to the engagement ring.

“That’s Katniss’s engagement ring, from me,” I said.

“Oh so the boy with the bread finally got the nerves to propose?”

“Gale stop!” said Katniss.

“Stop what?”

“Stop teasing him!”

“Oh Katniss, you just don’t understand do you? Why be with someone like Peeta, when you can be with me?”

He grabs Katniss’s cheek and tries to kiss her, the Katniss pulls away.

“Gale stop. I love Peeta.”

That’s it. I’ve had enough.

I grab Gale’s shirt and pushes him toward me and up against the wall.

“Listen Gale. Katniss does not love you, she loves me. So deal with it and leave us alone.”

“What if I don’t want to leave you alone?”

“Then you’ll have to pay.”

“Yeah like what?”

Then I punch him in the face and then he runs away.

“Oh my gosh Peeta! That was amazing! Thank you!”

“There’s no need to thank me. He tried to kiss my fiance and I’m not going to allow that because I love you so much.

“I love you too.”

We kiss passionately and then we head home for the day.
