Chapter 25

Katniss’s POV:

Peeta and I stop kissing as we hear a cough behind us. We let go and turn around to see someone I don’t want to see. 

GALE.

“What are you doing here?” Peeta says.

“Well I heard you were having your honeymoon here so I came. I mean I already live here.” says Gale while shrugging.

“Gale just go away.” I say.

“What if I don’t want to.” he says while twirling my hair in his fingers.

“Get away from me!”

I push him away.

“Don’t touch her!” Peeta says.

“I can if I want to!”

“No you can’t! She’s my wife!”

“Not if I can help it!”

He leans in to kiss me and then I kick him in the shin.

“Hey! What was that for?”

“I don’t want to kiss you. The only person I want to kiss is Peeta.”

Peeta slides his hand around my waist.

“Okay if that’s how you want it to be. I guess I’m going to have to do it the hard way.”

He tries to punch me in the face, but then Peeta pushes him down.

“Katniss, call the police!” says Peeta.

“Okay.”

I get my phone and dial the number.

Peeta is holding Gale down on the ground as the police arrives.

“What’s going on here?” says the police. He immediately recognizes us.

“He tried to kiss my wife and then he nearly punched her.”

The policeman takes Gale away and is charged with assault.

“Well that happened.” laughed Peeta.

“Yep.” 

I take his hand and we sit down on the sand.

“Peeta, I’m sorry he came.”

“Don’t be sorry! It’s not your fault.”

“Yes it is! If I wasn’t friends with him then this wouldn’t have happened!” I say while crying.

“Katniss, your fine. You didn’t do anything!”

He wraps his arms around me as I cry in his chest.

“Thanks. You always know what to say. I love you.”

“I love you too.” 

I press my lips to his and he kisses back. Once we release, we go back to our hotel for dinner.
